Isabela State University–Cauayan Campus welcomes Ms. Concordia Marie A. Lagasca-Hiloma as the new Chief Editor of SUKISOK Journal of Arts and Sciences, the official research journal of the campus.
Having previously served as Managing Editor of SUKISOK, Ms. Lagasca-Hiloma now takes on the journal’s top editorial role, bringing with her valuable experience in the publication’s editorial processes and scholarly work.

SUKISOK serves as a research platform of ISU-Cauayan, providing a venue for faculty members, researchers, and scholars to communicate research findings, engage with emerging academic concerns, and contribute knowledge across the arts, sciences, education, and other fields. Through its publication work, the journal supports the campus’ continuing efforts to strengthen research productivity and scholarly communication.

Her background in philosophy also aligns meaningfully with the work of an academic journal, where critical inquiry, careful evaluation of ideas, and rigorous engagement with knowledge are essential to sound scholarship.

The SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences (e-ISSN: 3028-1792) continues to expand its international scholarly visibility through its listing in the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) and the German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB).

The Electronic Journals Library (EZB) was established in 1997 by the University Library of Regensburg in cooperation with the University Library of Technische Universität München. It was developed to provide users with a fast, structured, and unified way of accessing scholarly journals online. Hundreds of institutions participate in EZB, making it an important component of academic e-journal discovery and access.

SUKISOK is likewise cataloged in the German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB), a national cooperative network operated jointly by the Berlin State Library – Prussian Cultural Heritage and the German National Library. ZDB serves as a bibliographic database and data hub for serial publications and contains holdings information from libraries in Germany and Austria, as well as participating archives and museums.

SUKISOK is cataloged under ZDB ID 3227684-9, with a verified holding at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Library in Germany, beginning with Volume 5, Issue 1 (2025).

These developments further strengthen the Journal’s accessibility, discoverability, and presence within international academic library systems.

The SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences proudly announces the publication of Volume 6, Issue 2, titled “Between Structures and Lived Realities.”

This issue brings together interdisciplinary scholarship that examines the relationship between institutions, communities, and human experience. Its contributions engage with personalized political power in the Philippines, regionalism and foreign policy, youth experiences of synodality, collective action among rice farmers in Tanzania, and compassion fatigue and psychological distress among medical professionals in China.

Despite their different disciplinary and geographical contexts, the articles share a common concern with how individuals and communities live within, respond to, and negotiate the structures that shape their realities. Together, they move across political, social, religious, economic, and professional settings, illustrating how broader systems are ultimately encountered and experienced in everyday life.

Our Chief Editor Dr. Paul Angelo Tamayo is representing the SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences at the 2026 Philippine Journal Editors Forum, happening today, May 8, 2026, at the Heritage Hotel Manila, Pasay City.

The forum gathered Philippine journal editors for discussions on journal indexing readiness, particularly in relation to AGPCI and Scopus. It also provided a venue for reflection, dialogue, and capacity-building toward strengthening the quality, visibility, and sustainability of Philippine scholarly journals.

Dr. Tamayo’s participation reflects SUKISOK’s continuing commitment to improving editorial standards, enhancing indexing readiness, and contributing to the advancement of research publication in the Philippines.
