Three MSMS chess players advance to the city meet after capturing top spots in the CCPRISATA Sports Meet 2026.

King Matthew Ramones, Jay Ralph Agustin, and Jerizze Anne Calma lead Merry Sunshine Montessori School, Inc.’s chess campaign with podium finishes in the Rapid and Standard events.

Ramones ruled the Elementary Boys division, taking first place in the Rapid and Standard events. Agustin followed with second-place finishes in the same events. The pair also captured the championship for Team MSMS in Rapid and Standard.

In the Secondary Girls division, Calma secured second place in Rapid and third place in Standard, earning her a spot in the city meet.

Also representing MSMS were Princess Erica Vargas in Secondary Girls and Joselito Gabriel De Guzman III and Xander Camit in Secondary Boys.

With their top finishes, Ramones, Agustin, and Calma advance to the city meet, where they will represent MSMS in the next level of competition.

𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Sunbeam and Sinag conducted the School-Based Press Conference 2026 on August 6–7 at the AVR and Computer Laboratory, with the theme “Keeping Student Journalists Involved: Cultivating the Next Generation of Storytellers."

The two-day event brought together student journalists from Grades 4–12 for lectures, workshops, and competitions in various journalism categories.

The first day featured lectures on the fundamentals of journalism, covering news writing, sports writing, sci-tech writing, editorial writing, column writing, copyreading and headline writing, feature writing, and radio broadcasting.

On the second day, students participated in writing competitions conducted simultaneously across three concurrent sessions. Their outputs were subsequently evaluated by the selected panel of judges.

The event concluded with an awarding ceremony held after the flag rites on August 10, where student journalists who placed first to third in various categories received certificates.

Top placers in each category will represent the school at the PSPC on August 20–21.

In celebration of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month, Merry Sunshine Montessori School proudly celebrates the achievements of our talented Sunshines and dedicated coach in the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign Competition, with the theme “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas.” The awarding ceremony was held on July 31, 2026, at the F.L. Dy Coliseum, Cauayan City, Isabela.
