𝐈𝐀𝐓 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!

Berlyn Galleta, a student of the Institute of Agricultural Technology, alongside her coach and mentor Dr. Cipriano M. Ticman Jr., and OA focal Ms. Jennilyn V. Pablo, competed in the 4th National Kabataang OA Quiz Bee at Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City, Metro Manila on November 25.

Galleta represented the Cagayan Valley Region in the competition. Among the 14 regions that contested, her 12th place finish is a great achievement for the IAT community.

On the other hand, the ATI Kabataang OA Quiz Bee is not just a competition but also promotes organic agriculture among youth by raising awareness of sustainable farming practices and technologies. It also encourages young people to pursue agricultural careers through a fun and engaging competition.

ISU Cauayan ruled the 2025 Regional Kabataang Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee, securing the top six spots in a competition that tested the region’s best agriculture students at Robinsons Mall, Tuguegarao City, October 23.

Berlyn M. Galleta captured first place, Lea Mae D. Ferrer secured second, Mikaela R. Britos clinched third, Shesaree G. Sagario landed fifth, and Mark S. Cestona placed sixth, sweeping the leaderboard and proving ISU Cauayan’s strength in agricultural knowledge and discipline.

The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) organized the event in line with the nationwide celebration of Organic Agriculture (OA) Month this November, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1030. The quiz bee aimed to raise awareness of organic agriculture, promote sustainable farming, and engage students in advancing environmentally sound food systems.

Dr. Cipriano M. Ticman Jr., Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Technology, along with his faculty team, mentored and guided the ISU Cauayan delegation throughout the competition. His leadership shaped the students’ preparation and fortified their mastery of topics such as the Organic Agriculture Act, OA standards, organic crop and livestock production, and current trends in sustainable practices.

Fifty-seven student participants from various campuses of the Cagayan State University (CSU), Quirino State University (QSU), Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), and Isabela State University (ISU) systems competed in the event.

ISU Cauayan’s victory strengthened the campus’ resolve to advance organic agriculture and motivate young farmers to pursue innovation and environmental stewardship. Ms. Galleta will represent the Cagayan Valley Region in the National Kabataang Organic Agriculture Quiz Bee

ISU Reigns Supreme in 11th Regional Organic Month Quiz Bee

Isabela State University (ISU) dominated the 2025 11th Regional Organic Month Quiz Bee at Robinsons Place, Tugegarao City, Cagayan, outshining competitors from Quirino State University, Cagayan State University, and Nueva Vizcaya State University.

Ms. Berlyn M. Galleta of ISU–Cauayan Campus emerged as Champion, and she will represent the Cagayan Valley Region in the National Organic Quiz Bee this coming November at Diliman, Quezon City.

The next three spots were also bagged by the ISU-Cauayan Campus with Lea Mae D. Ferrer, 2nd Place, Mikaela R. Britos, 3rd Place, and Ms. Shesaree G. Sagario rounded out the top five at 4th Place, and Ralph Allen J. Felipe of ISU-Cabagan Campus bagged the 3rd place.

The stellar performance highlights ISU’s strong commitment to academic excellence and environmental advocacy in promoting organic agriculture and sustainable practices.
