Project SOcial Campaign Movement in Eradicating Drugs

05/01/2023

A new year has come but Project SOCMED is still here reminding you about the dangers of illegal drugs.

“Addictions … started out like magical pets, pocket monsters. They did extraordinary tricks, showed you things you hadn’t seen, were fun. But came, through some gradual dire alchemy, to make decisions for you. Eventually, they were making your most crucial life-decisions. And they were… less intelligent than goldfish.”
– William Gibson

Spread positivity not drugs!

"Addiction" is a habit that is very hard to prevent yourself from doing it especially if this habit is not really going to make you better in the future. If you are aware of our current situations, drug addicts have been around since the end of the terms of the Ex-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who focused on eliminating and stopping all crimes about drugs in the Philippines.

Illicit drugs affect how a person behaves itself and it also affects a person's way of thinking, one of many reasons why a lot of criminals these days are drug abusers. Violence is mostly the reason for drug-related cases. People who suffer from poverty are the ones who are indulged in these situations, mostly youth. Peer pressure, possibly because a person's friends are all doing it, causing him to join in. Bad relationships with either family or friends are also one of the main reasons why people engage themselves on drugs.

We shouldn't abuse drugs or overdose because it also impacts our health, sleeping may be difficult since it also affects brains. You may also encounter some diseases about the heart, kidney, and liver. We should avoid these types of situations while we are still young because drug abuse will harm us and we can avoid violence, which drug addicts cannot avoid. Avoid "bad influence" people because they may try to invite you to do things students shouldn't do at a young age. We, students, should just participate in activities that improve mental and physical health, which is a good thing because you may discover your hidden talent.

Drugs do have bad effects on our body if we keep on taking it. If we continue involving ourselves in any drug-related situations, then you might want to start thinking about your future. We should also think about our parents who are out there to support you.

Na sure thing na ba ang lahat? O baka naman ginanun ka lang?

A friendly reminder that it's better to be adik sa'yo than adik sa drugs.

From Project SOCMED, Danica Shane C. Caducoy as TRES!
Scriptwriter: Danica Shane C. Caducoy

A short film about how a simple 'try lang' could lead you to a downward spiral of negative decisions and consequences. Drugs are devils with the mask of an angel that are actually leading you down not high.

It's not always about the things that we do but also those that we don't. Don't try. Don't start. Don't do drugs.

This is Project SOCMED not just spreading awareness about the influences of drugs but also the negative people that go along with it.

"Don't let drugs keep you from your dreams"

Therefore, it means you shall not do drugs if you still want to finish your dream. Drugs destroy our lives, and if you do drugs your dreams will immediately shatter into a million pieces.

"Avoid negative people, for they are the greatest destroyers of self-confidence and self-esteem. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you!"
