August 12, 2026 - The Joint Management Committee (MANCOM) and Executive Committee (EXECOM) of Samar Colleges, Inc. came together for an engaging session on “Samar College | Global Classroom: Benchmarking Faculty Excellence and AI-Driven Classroom,” led by Dr. Rex Venard Bacarra of Zayed Military University–Rabdan Academy and a fellow Samarnon.

The session offered fresh insights into how AI can support educators and help shape more innovative, future-ready classrooms. More importantly, it sparked meaningful conversations on how Samar Colleges can embrace technology while keeping education grounded in its people and purpose.

TACLOBAN CITY – Samar Colleges, Inc. (SCI) successfully concluded its four-day Faculty Professional Development Seminar-Workshop held from July 15-18, 2026 at the Radiant Hotel and Events Place in Tacloban City. Anchored on the theme "Innovating Minds, Elevating Teaching: Empowering Faculty for Excellence in the Digital and Critical Thinking Era," the seminar equipped faculty members with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in an educational landscape increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, research, and higher-order thinking.

The faculty members participated in an orientation, courseware demonstrations, and workshop activity designed to enhance the integration of technology into teaching and learning. The training also introduced and reinforced key provisions of the SCI Courseware Policy, promoting the proper, consistent, and responsible use of the institution’s digital learning platform.
