Aspiring debaters! The SSU DebSoc Google Form is now available for students interested in joining the SSU Debate Society. The form will remain open until November 6, 2024.

Members will have the opportunity to participate in competitions, both on-campus and potentially at inter-university or national levels. Furthermore, practice in debate settings builds self-assurance in presenting and defending ideas, helping members become more confident inside and outside the classroom.

The up-and-coming Samar State University Debate Society made its resounding introduction during the Student Expo along with other student organizations held in the SSU gymnasium on October 4, 2024.

Debaters of the SSU Debate Society showcased their past achievements in the previous 15th Eastern Visayas Debate Cup - Asian Parliamentary held at UP Tacloban, and their dominance in the recently concluded city-wide Mayor Dexter Uy Asian Parliamentary Debate.

The SSU Debate Society demonstrated the power of dialogue, critical thinking, and the art of persuasion! Our booth was buzzing with curious minds eager to learn more about what makes debate and public speaking such a valuable skill.

We aim to encourage students to take part in public discourse and intellectual discussions, and to engage with our fellow tradesmen in voicing out our opinions and practicing our freedom of speech!
