๐ฅ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ฅ๐ด โ Strengthening IPTBM through ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ
Samar State University, through the Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SIGISDAC), implements activities under Project 1: Strengthening the Regional Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) in Eastern Visayas of the DOSTโPCAARRD Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program Phase 2.
As part of this initiative, SSU successfully convened Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs) in Eastern Visayas through the Regional IPTBM Coordination and Convergence: IP Policy & Technology Transfer Protocol Review and IP Audit & Inventory Workshop, held on March 19โ20 and March 23โ24, 2026, at the Naval Function Room, Summit Hotel Tacloban.
The activity brought together ITSO Directors, IPTBM focal persons, and institutional representatives from the following CMIs:

โข Visayas State University (VSU)
โข Biliran Province State University (BiPSU)
โข Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU)
โข Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)
โข University of Eastern Philippines (UEP)
The activity served as a platform for the review and enhancement of institutional Intellectual Property policies and Technology Transfer protocols, while fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment among CMIs. The workshop featured technical sessions led by Prof. Adrian H. Sablan, Chief of the IP Management and Technology Transfer Division of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, and Engr. Aldrex L. Aviso, Intellectual Property Rights Specialist of IPOPHL, covering the IP system, technology transfer, commercialization, and institutional policy development.
Through this initiative, the RAISE Program continues to advance a culture of innovation, strengthen institutional linkages, and support the effective management and commercialization of technologies in Eastern Visayas.
