🎄✨ Embracing the Spirit of Giving! ✨🎄

The Waray Shrine Club of Mabuhay Shriners, under Shriners International, together with Northern Samar Lodge No. 211, joined the opening of Karibhungan sa Pasko in Catarman, Northern Samar — a wonderful celebration of community, creativity, and Christmas cheer.
As Shriners, we believe that no man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child. This season reminds us to uplift lives, spread joy, and inspire kindness. 💛
Let’s continue to make a difference together! 🎁

Today, Freemasons worldwide honor St. John the Baptist—a figure chosen as a patron saint for his unwavering integrity, spiritual purity, and fearless commitment to truth. Medieval stonemasons dedicated their guilds to him as their protector, a tradition that continues in modern Freemasonry. His feast day, June 24th, also marks the summer solstice—the longest day of the year—symbolizing light, knowledge, and enlightenment.

Significantly, on June 24, 1717, the first Grand Lodge was founded in London by four existing lodges meeting on St. John the Baptist’s feast day. This event marked the birth of organized speculative Freemasonry and set the foundation for the worldwide fraternity we know today. The Grand Lodge’s creation linked the fraternity’s identity closely to St. John the Baptist, reinforcing his role as a symbol of moral guidance and renewal.

St. John the Baptist’s life exemplifies the cardinal virtues Freemasonry cherishes: courage in adversity, prudence, temperance, and justice. His passionate zeal calls Masons to live with honor, stand firm in their principles, and seek continuous spiritual and moral growth.

Together with St. John the Evangelist—whose feast day near the winter solstice complements the balance—he represents the harmony of passionate action and reflective knowledge. This duality encourages us to balance heart and mind, faith and reason, on our personal and fraternal journeys.

Though rooted in Christian tradition, Freemasonry’s reverence for St. John the Baptist is symbolic and inclusive, embracing universal values that transcend any single faith. His example inspires all who seek truth, wisdom, and brotherly love.

As we celebrate today, let us reflect on the light of knowledge and the courage to walk the path of integrity and truth.
