Teaching is like caring for the Earthโ€”they serve as channels of knowledge and wisdom, helping humanity grow and discover the mysteries of this planet and beyond.

As we commemorate World Teachersโ€™ Day, let us remember those who taught us not only the lessons we need for our future professions but also the values that shape who we are. And as we carry those seeds throughout our lives, may we also uphold the principles of care, love, and respect for every being that shares this home we call Earth. ๐ŸŒ

Happy World Teachersโ€™ Day to all our mentorsโ€”both inside and outside the classroom! โœจ

Celebrated every October 4, World Animal Day is a day dedicated to our fellow inhabitants of this planet.

This global movement shines a spotlight on animal welfare, reminding everyone that animals are sentient beingsโ€”with feelings, personalities, and the right to humane treatment.

Looking back, the first World Animal Day was held on March 24, 1925, in Berlin, Germany, organized by renowned animal activist Heinrich Zimmerman. It was later moved to October 4 to honor Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.

Today, as we celebrate World Animal Day, we, from the University of Eastern Philippines โ€” Environmental Science Society, extend our support to millions of people worldwide uniting to fight against animal cruelty and illegal huntingโ€”for such disruptions endanger every form of life.

This World Animal Day, let us all take part in this movement:
โ€ขSupport animal shelters;
โ€ข Adopt, donโ€™t shop;
Advocate for wildlife conservation; and
Protect the creatures who share our planet.

Even beyond this special day, let us raise our voices for those who cannot speak for themselves. Celebrate, protect, and careโ€”because when we protect animals, we protect our planet. We protect our home. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š

Today, September 28, on World Rabies Day, we raise our voices and strengthen our actions against this deadly disease. Itโ€™s time to make a real difference! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

A healthy environment plays a crucial role in preventing rabies. ๐ŸŒฟ When ecosystems thrive, animal populations stay balanced, lowering the risk of outbreaks. Protecting our planet means protecting ourselves.

Rabies ends with us. Through the One Health Approach, which unites human, animal, and environmental health, we can build stronger strategies to eliminate rabies at its source. Collaboration is key! ๐Ÿค

The time to act is now: vaccinate your pets, spread awareness in your community, and support organizations working toward rabies elimination. Together, we can create a safer world where no one has to fear this virus.

Be the change. Join the fight against rabies this World Rabies Dayโ€”for a healthier and rabies-free future. ๐ŸŒโœจ

Ngayong araw ay iginugunita natin ang ๐™ž๐™ ๐™–-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿณ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™—๐™š๐™ง๐™จ๐™–๐™ง๐™ฎ๐™ค ng pagkakamit ng kalayaan ng Pilipinas.

๐Ÿฆ…

The ocean serves as a part of the livelihood of many people through fishing, salt production, and tourism services, undoubtedly proving the inextricable dependence of humans on nature. However, as the economy progresses, oceans are turning into a huge trash bin, where humans dispose of their waste.

As data recorded, every year approximately 11 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean, leading marine organisms to be at risk and causing major issues.

This June 8, it is not just a normal day. This World Ocean Day with its theme: "Wonder: Sustaining what sustains us", focuses on giving back all the essentials that the crystal seas provided. It is the day to commemorate the actions for ocean conservation and protection, while forging connections in creating better change. Let us continue working together for the sake of sustainability, for the lifeblood of our fellow fishermen and all those who rely on the resources brought by the ocean.

Before the day ends, let the spirit of ocean stewardship guide our actionsโ€”not just today, but every single day. May our commitment to protecting our beautiful seas ripple through communities, inspire action, and lead us to a more sustainable future.
