UEP strengthens IP awareness across disciplines

The University of Eastern Philippines (UEP), through its Intellectual Property Unit – Innovation and Technology Support Office (IPU–ITSO), continues to champion intellectual property (IP) awareness across the university. The office regularly conducts activities focused on utility models, patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and other IP-related concepts.

From January to May 2025, the IPU–ITSO successfully conducted seven (7) IP Awareness Seminars, one (1) Patent Drafting Workshop, and two (2) Patent Search Trainings. These initiatives engaged faculty and students from various academic programs, including BS Agribusiness, BS Agriculture, BS Biology, BS Fisheries, BS Meat Technology, BTLEd Home Economics, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Through these efforts, UEP continues to build a strong culture of innovation and intellectual property protection among its faculty, researchers, and students.

UEP participates in CHED Fusion Conference 2025: Innovative Solutions to Global Problems

The University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) proudly participated in the CHED Fusion Conference 2025, held on April 10–11, 2025, at the CHED Auditorium and University Hotel, UP Diliman, Quezon City. With the theme “Innovative Solutions to Global Problems,” the two-day conference brought together faculty researchers, innovators, government representatives, and industry partners in a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

A distinguished panel composed of experts from the government and private sector evaluated the pitches, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The event served as a valuable avenue for highlighting research-based solutions to global challenges and fostering strong networks among stakeholders.

On the second day, the program continued at the University Hotel with a Roadmap Session, aimed at helping project teams refine their strategic directions and identify potential pathways for technology development and commercialization. Guided by expert mentors, participants engaged in meaningful discussions and received tailored advice. The session also facilitated introductions between research teams and prospective industry partners, paving the way for future engagements and support mechanisms.

UEP’s active involvement in the CHED Fusion Conference 2025 affirms its strong commitment to advancing research, innovation, and sustainable development goals (SDGs) through science and technology.
