The second phase of the BAEL Qualifying Examination 2026, the Oral Examination, was successfully conducted at 1:00 PM, marking another significant milestone in the academic journey of our BAEL Divas. This stage provided the examinees with the opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills, language proficiency, confidence, and ability to express their thoughts effectively. Through their determination and preparation, the students embraced the challenge with professionalism and resilience, showcasing the qualities expected of future language practitioners and educators.

The BAEL community extends its appreciation to everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of this activity, as well as its heartfelt congratulations to all examinees for their hard work and perseverance. Regardless of the results, completing this important phase is already a testament to their dedication and commitment to academic excellence. May this experience continue to inspire them as they move forward in achieving their goals and aspirations.

For years, the Pasidungog Recognition Rites have been graced by inspiring alumni whose journeys were shaped through words, communication, and the power of language. This year, the College of Arts and Communication turns the page to another remarkable story of success—one rooted in understanding people, communities, and society.

The College proudly introduces Ms. Regia Flor B. Pinca as the Guest Speaker for the Pasidungog Recognition Rites 2026.

A proud alumna of the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Ms. Pinca's journey from Northern Samar to distinguished leadership roles in education, human resources, administration, finance, and corporate management reflects the limitless possibilities that await CAC graduates. Her career stands as a testament to the enduring value of liberal education and the transformative impact of excellence, perseverance, integrity, and people-centered leadership.

As we celebrate the achievements of our students and mark the College's 30th Founding Anniversary, Ms. Pinca returns to her alma mater not only as a successful professional but as an inspiration to a new generation of CACians ready to make their own mark on the world.

The nerve-racking journey toward triumph in the BAEL program officially commenced as the freshmen took on the Qualifying Examinations, sitting for the grammar and composition writing tests at CAC4a on June 1, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

Under the supervision of the officers and professors, students immediately went inside CAC4a to take their grammar test — a rigorous assessment designed to evaluate their structural accuracy and foundational language proficiency essential for the BAEL program.

After the grammar test, students were once again brain-squeezed as they pushed through the composition writing test, putting their essay skills, creativity, and English writing to the ultimate test.

In the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) program, proficiency in grammar and writing skills serves as the absolute foundation for academic excellence and professional success.

All those sleepless nights reviewing linguistic theories, mastering grammar rules, and analyzing syntax are about to pay off. This isn't just any regular test—it's your gateway to officially claiming your spot in the program and proving that you have the grit, the passion, and the intellect to master the English language.

So, shake off the nerves, double-check your review notes, and trust the process because you didn't come this far just to come this far. Bring your sharpest pens, your clearest minds, and that unstoppable energy on Monday. The entire department is rooting for you, and we know you're going to absolutely ace this. PLEASE NOTE: This qualifying exam is strictly for incoming sophomores (freshmen transitioning to their second year) who are entering the BAEL program. This does not apply to incoming first-year students.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 || 𝗕𝗔𝗘𝗟 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗣

The season of preparation for the upcoming Qualifying Examinations officially kicked off for the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) freshmen with Day 1 of the Comprehensive Learning Assessment Program (CLAP) this Thursday, May 28, 2026, dividing its intensive training into morning and afternoon sessions.

The morning session began at 9:00 AM, focusing strictly on sharpening foundational oral competencies, where students dived into confidence-building techniques and performance tips to ensure their readiness for the demanding oral components of the examinations.

The event commenced with Prof. Fontina Gracia D. Pecayo leading the first session from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by Prof. Wilson N. Ejercito for the second round from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Serving as the morning’s resource speakers, both educators played a major role in shaping the freshmen's skills by demystifying the oral evaluation process, sharing actionable communication techniques, and providing the students with the practical insights needed to express their ideas clearly and confidently under pressure.

The momentum continued into the afternoon at 1:00 PM, shifting the spotlight toward sharpening the foundational writing skills of the freshmen through structural organization to prepare them for the rigorous demands of the written exams.

Led by resource speakers Prof. Christian Jake Cuaderno and Prof. Patrick Mac Dela Peña, these afternoon sessions directly shaped the students' writing skills by breaking down complex composition theories into practical, actionable steps and hands-on drafting exercises.

The next sessions will tackle about English Grammar Rules to be held on the 29th of May with another set of resource speakers.

Preparing for the qualifying examination does not have to be overwhelming—because BAEL CLAP (Comprehensive Learning Assistance Program) is here to guide and support every BAEL 1 student throughout the review journey. This initiative is designed to strengthen foundational knowledge, enhance academic preparedness, and build confidence through meaningful and focused learning sessions.

As the examination dates approach, let this program become a space for growth, collaboration, and determination. Every review session is an opportunity to learn, improve, and move one step closer to success. 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗥: 𝗕𝗔𝗘𝗟 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

With confidence, preparation, and academic excellence, the BAEL Junior students successfully presented and defended their mini research studies centered on the field of Language and Gender. The first day of the defense was held at UEP Graduate Studies, while the second day continued at UEP Academic Building 108, providing the students with an opportunity to showcase their research competence, critical thinking, and communication skills through academic discussion and scholarly exchange. The sessions officially commenced at 1:00 PM on the first day and 9:00 AM on the second day, marking an important milestone in their academic journey.

This achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and evaluation of the distinguished Panel of Examiners composed of Ma’am Lewelyn H. Merida (Subject Professor), Sir Wilson Ejercito, and Ma’am Greza Mae B. Zaspa-Herreras, whose insights and constructive feedback contributed to enriching the students’ research experience. Congratulations to all BAEL Juniors for successfully defending your studies and for taking another meaningful step toward academic growth and excellence.

Continuing the momentum of the previous research presentations, the third batch of BAEL student-researchers successfully carried out their Thesis Proposal Defense on May 21, 2026. The activity highlighted the students’ dedication and months of preparation as they introduced their proposed studies and addressed questions from the evaluators with clarity and confidence.

The defense featured various topics focusing on language use, communication practices, and multilingual interaction in academic settings. Throughout the program, the panel chair and members shared helpful insights and suggestions to further improve the quality and direction of each study. With the guidance of Dr. Maria Cora Cabacang, the presenters were able to demonstrate their readiness to continue into the next stage of their research work.

The successful completion of the proposal defense by the third batch also marked the completion of all BAEL 3 research presentations. This achievement reflects the students’ determination, cooperation, and growing competence in the field of language and linguistic studies. As the entire BAEL 3 officially moves forward to the next phase of their academic undertaking, the program celebrates another milestone filled with learning, growth, and success.
