The National Reading Month Celebration at Pandan National High School was successfully and meaningfully conducted on December 1, 2025, through the initiative of the dedicated Reading Coordinator and English Club Adviser, Ma’am Ivy Jane R. Nolial, with the full support of the faculty members and the school head, Sir Jerome N. Morada. The celebration aimed to strengthen students’ love for reading, enhance their literacy skills, and promote the value of books and knowledge in shaping young minds. The entire school community actively participated in the event, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and academic excitement that highlighted the importance of reading as a lifelong skill and a foundation for learning across all disciplines.

Prior to the culminating activity, a series of engaging and competitive events were conducted to sustain students’ interest and participation. These included the Slogan Making Contest, Infomercial Making, Trailer Making, Door Decoration Contest, Quiz Bee, Spelling Bee, and Zumba Dance Competition. Each activity showcased the diverse talents of the learners—not only in writing and speaking but also in performing arts, creativity, teamwork, and physical fitness. These pre-celebration activities allowed students from different grade levels to express their skills while reinforcing the core objective of promoting literacy in fun and innovative ways. The sustained excitement across the campus truly reflected the success of the month-long celebration.

The highlight of the event was the much-anticipated Book Character Dress competition, where candidates from Grades 7 to 12 confidently showcased their creativity by wearing costumes inspired by the theme “Gods and Goddesses.” Each candidate introduced themselves and gracefully walked on stage in front of the audience, bringing mythical characters to life through their costumes and stage presence. After the impressive exposure, the winners were proudly announced: Champions – Samantha Llona & Darren Marantal; 1st Runner-Up – Trixie Ann Valdez & John Lloyd Lesano; 2nd Runner-Up – Louisa Barbasina & John Rey Leoncito; and 3rd Runner-Up – Mary Grace Pagtalunan & Rainer Morin. The celebration concluded with joy and pride, leaving an enduring impact on the students and reinforcing the school’s commitment to literacy, creativity, and holistic development.

Congratulations Pandan NHS Young Journalists and Coaches🎉👏

The Municipal Schools Press Conference (MSPC) 2025 was successfully conducted at Cumadcad National High School on December 2, 2025, bringing together the brightest young campus journalists from different schools across the municipality. The event served as a celebration of talent, diligence, and journalistic excellence as students showcased their skills in writing, editing, and visual storytelling. Pandan National High School proudly stood out in the competition, proving once again its strong tradition of excellence in campus journalism. Through determination, discipline, and passion for truth and creativity, the Pandan NHS delegates demonstrated outstanding performance across various categories, earning multiple top placements and securing their spots as qualifiers for the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

Leading the triumph of Pandan NHS was Andrei B. Pongpong, who claimed 1st Place in Science and Technology Writing (English), emerging as the lone gold medalist of the school. Several students followed closely with remarkable 2nd Place finishes, including Daniela H. Ariola in Column Writing (English), Ted Anthony L. Marbella in Sports Writing (Filipino), Airiz J. Pongpong in News Writing (English), and Kristine L. Marantal in Editorial Cartooning (English)—all qualifying for the DSPC. Meanwhile, multiple 3rd Place awards were secured by Jesa M. Catarungan in Copy Reading and Headline Writing (Filipino), Andrea D. Fuaso in Copy Reading and Headline Writing (English), John Mark N. Bataller in Editorial Cartooning (Filipino), and Phoenix Joe M. Sasuya in Photojournalism (English), further strengthening the school’s impressive medal haul and competitive presence.

In addition, commendable efforts were shown by other Pandan NHS journalists who placed in the top ranks, including Chariz L. Bojador (4th Place, News Writing – Filipino), Ejay V. Congratulations!!!

The Pandan NHS Arts and Photography Club proudly celebrated a milestone as their short film entry, “Supil,” received a Special Screening at the 2025 Children’s Month Short Films Festival. Representing the Castilla South District, the film powerfully embodied the festival’s theme, Hope Reels: Stories of Healing, Resilience, and Empowerment, during its showcase at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, DepEd Sorsogon Province Building, Balogo Sports Complex, Sorsogon City on November 28, 2025. With emotional honesty and creative depth, “Supil” explored the silent yet heavy struggles that many children endure—struggles often overshadowed by the routines of daily life. Through its heartfelt storytelling, the film highlighted the transformative force of compassion, understanding, and courage, showing how hope can rise even in the most difficult circumstances.

The success of “Supil” stands as a testament to the dedication and artistry of the student filmmakers who poured their talent and advocacy into every scene. The film not only presented a narrative of pain and perseverance but also invited viewers to reflect on the importance of creating spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and supported. By illuminating the reality of children who suffer silently, the film urged communities to break cycles of neglect and empower the youth with empathy, guidance, and acceptance. Through its participation in the festival, the Pandan NHS Arts and Photography Club reaffirmed its mission to produce meaningful films that do more than entertain—they inspire awareness, dialogue, and positive change.

Behind this remarkable achievement were the mentors and supporters whose guidance made the journey possible. Coach Sir Arnel R. After much anticipation and preparation, the long-awaited Intramurals at Pandan National High School finally pushed through and was successfully held from September 17 to 19, 2025. The event was spearheaded by the ever-committed Sports Coordinator, Sir John Carl M. Murillo, with full support from the school head, Sir Jerome N. Morada. The three-day celebration of sports and unity brought together both students and teachers who were grouped into four vibrant teams inspired by the kingdoms of Encantadia: the Yellow Sapiro, Red Hathoria, Green Adamya, and Blue Lireo. This creative theme added excitement and fantasy to the event, creating a magical atmosphere throughout the campus.

The opening day kicked off with a colorful parade featuring each team donning their thematic attire, reflecting the colors and symbolism of their assigned Encantadia kingdom. Both students and teachers marched proudly, waving flags and showing off their team spirit with confidence and joy. The opening program followed, highlighted by a series of spirited performances during the yell performances and the flag-raising ceremony. The athletes showcased their discipline, coordination, and unity, setting the tone for the competitive yet friendly matches that would unfold over the next two days.

Throughout the three-day event, students competed in a variety of sports disciplines including volleyball, badminton, chess, sepak takraw, and athletics. These competitions brought out the best in each participant, as they demonstrated not only physical prowess but also strategic thinking, resilience, and teamwork. The third day featured traditional Filipino games or larong lahi, which added a nostalgic and cultural element to the festivities. These games reminded everyone of the importance of heritage while reinforcing teamwork in a more relaxed and playful setting.

The success of the Intramurals 2025 was made possible by the collaboration of various stakeholders in the school community. The unwavering commitment of the school head and sports coordinator was matched by the dedication of the team managers, Sports Club officers, and tournament managers. Special recognition was given to the tournament managers who ensured the smooth conduct of each sport: John Carl M. Murillo for Volleyball, Arnel R. Lotino for Badminton, Alwin V. Latonero for Chess, and the tandem of Jovencio F. Gaton Jr. and Nicolo Mayo B. Infante for Athletics. Their efforts behind the scenes made the competitions fair, organized, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

On the final day, the awarding ceremony was held, celebrating the hard work and victories of the participants. Cheers and applause filled the venue as medals, certificates, and trophies were handed to the deserving winners. Green Adamya emerged as the overall champion of Intramurals 2025, showcasing their dominance in several sports categories. Red Hathoria took home the 1st runner-up title, followed by Blue Lireo as 2nd runner-up, and Yellow Sapiro as 3rd runner-up. Each team, regardless of ranking, exhibited commendable sportsmanship and unity, proving that the true essence of the intramurals lies in participation and growth.

This year’s intramurals was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the showcasing of talents and skills among students and faculty alike. On September 5, 2025, Pandan National High School (PNHS) proudly held a successful School-Based Press Conference led by the ever-dedicated school paper advisers, Sir Carl Cedrick E. Mallorca and Ma’am Charity May B. Dayrit. With the unwavering support of the school head, Sir Jerome N. Morada, the event gathered aspiring campus journalists from Grade 7 to Grade 12, each ready to showcase their journalistic skills in various categories. The activity aimed not only to hone the students’ writing abilities but also to promote media literacy and responsible journalism among the youth.

The event featured a wide range of journalistic competitions, including feature writing, sports writing, news writing, copyreading and headline writing, photojournalism, science and technology writing, column writing, editorial cartooning, and editorial writing. Each student demonstrated dedication and passion in their chosen field, impressing the panel of judges and speakers with their talents and potential. It was evident that the participants prepared well for the event, bringing pride to their grade levels and setting the bar high for future school press events.

Pandan National High School extended its heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed resource speakers who significantly contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks were given to Sir Arjay P. Morada, kasama ang mga g**o sa Departamento ng Filipino na sina Bb. Charity May B. Dayrit at Gng. Sarah A. Andes na katuwang sa pagbibigay saysay at kahalagahan sa naturang pagdiriwang. Malaki rin ang naging ambag ng mga g**o sa maingat na paghahanda para sa iba’t ibang kompetisyon na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral, gaya ng dalawahang tinig, madulang pagbasa, balagtasan, at ang pinakatampok na bahagi ng selebrasyon—ang koronasyon ng Lakan at Lakambini 2025. 👑👸🤴

Dayrit ay nagbigay-daan upang maipakita ang kahalagahan ng ating pambansang wika at kulturang Pilipino sa mas makulay at makabuluhang paraan. Sa kanilang masusing paghahanda at dedikasyon, naging matagumpay ang programa sa pagbibigay-inspirasyon sa mga mag-aaral na mas pahalagahan ang ating wika at tradisyon.
