‎Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus celebrated World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 2026, at the FTC Hall, honoring the dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions of its faculty members. Organized by the Future League of Agricultural Movement for Educators (FLAME), in partnership with the Supreme Student Council and other student organizations, the celebration served as a meaningful tribute to the educators who continue to inspire, guide, and shape future generations.

‎The program opened with heartfelt remarks from Dr. Milagros N. Ebuenga, Campus Director, who recognized the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of teachers in molding future leaders. She emphasized the significant responsibility entrusted to educators and the fulfillment that comes with their noble profession.
‎
‎The celebration featured lively entertainment, fun-filled games, gift-giving, and a special serenade dedicated to the faculty. These activities provided the teachers with an opportunity to relax and enjoy the occasion, while allowing students to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for their mentors’ guidance, support, and dedication.

‎The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Edison Molina, FLAME President, who expressed the organization’s and the student body’s sincere gratitude and recognition of the faculty’s tireless efforts and invaluable service.

‎Through this celebration, SorSU Castilla Campus reaffirmed its appreciation for the educators whose passion and commitment continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of their students.

‎𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐒𝐔 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲

‎Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus held a seminar sponsored by the Safety and Security Services Unit and the Student Development Services Office. The seminar aimed to provide the participants with knowledge on basic road courtesy and safety, a theoretical driving course, as well as an avenue to apply for the student driver's permit on September 30, 2026 at the FTC Hall.

‎The seminar opened with a gentle yet powerful reminder from Campus Director Dr. Milagros N. Ebuenga about the responsibilities of sitting behind the wheel as well as the importance of defensive driving. She stressed that once you hold the wheel, you become responsible not just for your own life, but for your passengers, for other people on the road, and for pedestrians.

‎Mr. Nicanor A. Balaoro then warmly welcomed and introduced the guest speakers from LTO Sorsogon - Mr. Manuel G. Laban Jr. and Mr. John Rafael Ilagan.
‎
‎Mr. Manuel G. Laban Jr. introduced the RA 4136 (The Land Transportation and Traffic Code of the Philippines) and RA 10930 (Amendments to the Land Transportation and Traffic Codes of the Philippines). Additionally, he presented the Road and Traffic Rules in a quiz bee style approach. He also emphasized the Duties and Responsibilities of a Driver.

‎Then, Mr. John Rafael Ilagan discussed the LTO Joint Administrative Order and Special Laws concerning road users.
‎
‎Afterwards, the LTO personnel proceeded to process the applications for student driver permits from the interested participants.
‎
‎The seminar ended with the closing remarks delivered by SDS Coordinator Ms. Celine N. Talagsad, reaffirming the importance of road courtesy and safety.

Sorsogon State University - Castilla Campus recognized the best ASEAN-Inspired awardees during the flag-raising ceremony on October 5, 2026.

The monthly activity, headed by the Office of International Relations and the Office of the Campus Director, supports the Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 16, s. 2024, which encourages government employees to wear ASEAN-inspired attire to express the cultural appreciation, unity, and shared heritage among Southeast Asian Nations.

This month's awardees are Mr. Arnel J. Ariola and Mrs. Vergie L. Nolial. Mr. Ariola proudly carried himself with an intricately designed ombre blue barong tagalog, displaying the vibrant Filipino culture. Meanwhile Mrs. Nolial wore a splendid dress with a traditional ikat motif, illustrating Indonesia's meticulous textile patterns.

The certificates and sashes were awarded by Administrative Officer Mrs. Reynalda H. Duana, College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Rochele N. Aragon, Campus Director Dr. Milagros N. Ebuenga, and International Relations Office Coordinator Ms. Mari Anne B. Gojar.

Through this initiative, SorSU Castilla Campus continues to promote the appreciation and cross-cultural awareness of Southeast Asian Nations.

‎Held every Monday after the Flag-Raising Ceremony, SPARK provides students and employees with an opportunity to pause, listen, reflect, and learn from meaningful insights and experiences relevant to their personal, academic, and professional lives.
‎Through short talks and reflections, the series features teaching and non-teaching personnel who share their perspectives on personal growth, values formation, responsible engagement, and the qualities that help build a stronger campus community.
