Face-to-face classes in the elementary and secondary levels in the Municipality of Carrascal are suspended and will shift to Modular Distance Learning (MDL) pursuant to Executive Order No. 18, Series of 2026.

According to Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 2 issued at 5:00 AM on March 9, 2026, the Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) is affecting Surigao del Sur and nearby provinces, bringing the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.

The Municipal Government of Carrascal informs the public that the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels previously ordered through EO 15, series of 2026, is hereby LIFTED.

This follows the latest assessment of local conditions and coordination with concerned agencies. All schools shall return to face-to-face classes starting tomorrow, February 23, 2026.

PUBLIC ADVISORY | CLASS SUSPENSION EXTENDED

In view of the continuing weather disturbances brought about by Tropical Depression ADA and upon the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Mayor Joseph L. Urgel has extended the suspension of face-to-face classes and the shift to Modular Distance Learning (MDL) in the Municipality of Carrascal, until lifted.

This measure is implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners. Further advisories will be issued as updates become available.
