๐‘จ๐’†๐’“๐’๐’”๐’๐’๐’” are colloidal systems made up of fine solid particles or liquid droplets dispersed in a gas, usually air. Because of their extremely small size, they can remain suspended in the atmosphere for extended periods. Common examples include fog, smoke, dust, sea spray, volcanic ash, and pollution particles.

Aerosols can come from both ๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’‚๐’ ๐’”๐’๐’–๐’“๐’„๐’†๐’” and ๐’‰๐’–๐’Ž๐’‚๐’ ๐’‚๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’—๐’Š๐’•๐’Š๐’†๐’”. Natural aerosols include sea spray, volcanic ash, desert dust, pollen, and wildfire smoke, while anthropogenic aerosols can come from combustion, industrial activities, vehicles, and other human-made sources.

But aerosols are more than just particles floating in the air.
