I never know that our life/lives can reframe reality in just a single minute.
Long Post Ahead

My first plan goes against the linear path in the afternoon of May 25, 2025 with my wife . I tried to send my application to some universities and colleges as my second job after my work in senior high school in ALLSHS - alam ng mga co-teachers ko " Sir Ardee, Sir Bawag and Sir Alo, lagay kita sa resume ha? Back-upan nyo ako, instructors naman kayo ng CVSU"; including my call to a lending institution to sustain my graduation fee in my masters’ degree "Malaki po ba maloloan ko po? gagraduate po ako sa MAED". Unfortunately, those opportunities never got an affirmative result, maybe it's not the time to have them.

However, I never know that our lives can reframe reality in just a single minute. At that moment, an email from the USA school district has been sent stating that their school principal is interested in setting up an interview. Reluctant at first but I grabbed the chance -and with God’s loving grace, after the day of 1-hour interview -Yes, Englishan po, I’ve got the golden opportunity, The JOB OFFER.


Looking back, we are not sure of our particular fate, sometimes the one that we are pursuing is not the exact calling that we need. In my 15 years experience in the teaching profession I encountered the ups and downs, mostly downs and failures lol. I started in private school 2010 with a salary of 5800php per month -Yes, maliit po ang salary- sabi ng katrabaho ko, "bakit kumakain ka pa sa canteen eh 50pesos yan?" 5800 lang naman monthly sweldo ko sa school. Somewhere in Silang – Bakit ako na sa Silang? Pinag sabay ko ang pag aaral ng BS Education and serving the ministry full- time ; In Korean school in 2011-2013 (8000-10000php); national high school T1 2013-2017 and senior high school T2 in 2017-2025. I'm still blessed that my parents and sister are always on my side for financial help but I want to prove na kaya ko naman.

I submitted my application for Master Teacher 2 for the second time and passed all the requirements, trainings and the Civil Service Commission Guidelines for Master Teacher 2 to get a good rank but I never got the top slots for promotion, so bawi na lang next time. Perhaps, the opportunity was not on my side at that time but the lessons which have taught me that someday the table will turn on my side habang na sa ilalim ako ng puno ng division office sa Trece at kumakain ng turon, turon lang dahil hindi naman ako na promote ( gawing well off, deep fried banana coated with caramelized sugar).

Teaching in the USA as they say, is not for the weak, fainthearted, emotionally sensitive and sorrowful. If I assess myself, those are my characteristics , I could not even imagine that I survive every second of my life and challenges in a place where I never knew anyone from the start. I'm thankful for Aristorenas, Buenaflor Family and Sir Rey for your generous and kindhearted acts to me here in our place. Challenges? saka ko na ikukwento, hindi po madali ang work and life dito, the reason why every day is a challenge, hindi naman natin alam ang ilalabas ng mga araw.

Beyond these words “When I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) is God’s grace on our career that every day, His will and mercy guide us and why I, you, and we are still on our ground and strength that comes from admitting our limitations are relying on His power.
