𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐒𝐔-𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐒𝐇𝐒 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

The first ever short film festival is really happening at Senior High School Department of MSU-Maguindanao with its official name "𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥" on 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦, 𝟖:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌. To provide you the etymology of the word Ilay, it is a Maguindanaon word which exactly means "𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒆" or "𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉" in English language. Its official name simply means to watch short films and get involved in the festivity.

Films have played a pivotal role in every aspect of our lives. Societal problems including political, economic, cultural and other related issues can be mirrored and played. On the other hand, it provides an outlet for creative expressions, an opportunity of learning new things, positive mindset and undoubtedly helping people unleash their potential and skills digitally and in the world of screen acting. It is indeed that filming is both an art and a science.

This activity is initiated by Mr. Guiabar K. Lumanggal, the subject teacher of Understanding Culture, Society and Politics (UCSP) and HIS003 History of Muslim Filipinos and IPs in MINSUPALA. Understanding Culture, Society and Politics is a core subject in SHS which can be taught to different strands. Hence, it is an inter-class short film festival and will be participated by STEM 12- A, B, C, D and HUMSS 11 - A. One section from HIS003 will also participate from the said activity. This would serve as their final requirement for the second quarter of the first semester of the academic year 2022-2023.

We truly want to bring out the best in every student of MSU-Maguindanao. Hoping to make this activity possible and will notice by the whole university and by the community. 𝑨𝒔 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆, 𝒘𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆.
