Did you know? The word “sine” in trigonometry actually came from a translation mistake.
It started from the Sanskrit word jya, was translated into Arabic, and later misread in Latin as sinus which means “fold” or “curve.”
A simple error… that became a permanent part of math history.
We, the Sipnayan πrates, are wishing the best of luck to you all this semester as we present to you our 26th 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚.

As a young student, he quickly found the sum of the numbers 1 to 100 by discovering the pattern (1 + 100), (2 + 99), (3 + 98), each pair equaling 101.
By pairing the first and last numbers, he formed 50 pairs, each with a sum of 101, and then multiplied 50 × 101 = 5050. This simple yet brilliant method showed his extraordinary ability to recognize patterns and solve problems efficiently.
We, the Sipnayan πrates, are wishing you all the best this semester as we present to you our 26th 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚
