Great news for our mountain-area community! The Department of Information and Communication has officially rolled out ๐…๐‘๐„๐„ ๐ˆ๐๐“๐„๐‘๐๐„๐“ ๐€๐‚๐‚๐„๐’๐’ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐“๐š๐ ๐š๐ฒ๐ญ๐š๐ฒ.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) implements the ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐—ช๐—ถ-๐—™๐—ถ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—”๐—น๐—น ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ (also called the Free Public Internet Access Program) to provide free internet connectivity in public schools and other government facilities. The program is authorized under Republic Act No. 10929 (Free Internet Access in Public Places Act).

The school received a Starlink Device capable of delivering blazing-fast speeds of 200โ€“300 Mbps. This initiative ensures that even in our remote areas, families, students, and professionals can stay connected, learn, and thrive in the digital age.

This project is more than just connectivityโ€”itโ€™s about empowering education, supporting livelihoods, and bridging the digital divide. With reliable internet, our community can now access online learning, government services, and global opportunities right from home.

Teaching Information and Communication Technology (ICT) without a single computer is one of the biggest challenges faced by teachers in remote mountain communities. While ICT is meant to develop digital skills, teachers often rely only on chalkboards, printed pictures, and handwritten lessons to explain computer parts, software, and internet concepts.

The lack of internet access, and modern equipment makes learning difficult for students. Many of them have never touched a computer, making it hard to connect classroom lessons with real-life technology. Despite these challenges, teachers remain committed to providing quality education by using creative teaching strategies and encouraging students to learn through imagination and discussion.

This situation highlights the need for greater support from the government and other organizations. Providing computers and basic ICT facilities to mountain schools would give students equal opportunities to develop the digital skills they need for their future.
