Kalangyawon NHS Empowers Teachers with LUMI App Through Hands-On LAC Session
October 10, 2025

Kalangyawon National High School continues to champion digital innovation in education as it conducted a Hands-On Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on the LUMI App last October 10, 2025. The session aimed to enhance teachers’ digital competencies and classroom engagement through the effective integration of technology in teaching and learning.

The activity was facilitated by the brilliant resource speakers — Sir Eugene Pelonio, Ma’am Jonavel Tabilog, and Sir Raymund Asentista — who successfully re-echoed their learnings from the LUMI Training held at Alta Hotel. Their engaging presentations and practical demonstrations empowered teachers to explore the features of the LUMI platform and apply them in lesson delivery.

A Morning of Care and Empowerment at Kalangyawon National High School

Today marks another milestone in our commitment to student well-being and community engagement here at Kalangyawon National High School. In partnership with the Medical Team of Carcar City Division, we successfully conducted a meaningful and impactful session on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) and Basic First Aid for our Grade 11 learners, student leaders, and parents.

In an age where emotional wellness is just as vital as physical health, this program provided a safe space to learn, reflect, and equip our students and their families with a deeper understanding of mental health and support emotional and psychological well-being..

Our deepest gratitude to our ever-supportive Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Cartessa Perico, whose vision and leadership continue to bring transformative programs into our schools. Thank you, Dr. Perico, for championing both academic and holistic development.

We are sincerely thankful to the Carcar City Division Medical Team headed by Dr. Yvette Lawas and Dr. Mylen Villegas for their dedication and commitment to this cause.

To our dear learners and parents — thank you for your active participation. Your presence today sends a strong message that mental health matters, and that our school is a safe, supportive space for all.

LAC Session Highlight | August 1, 2025 @ 3:30 PM

This afternoon, Kalangyawon NHS successfully conducted its first LAC session focused on Learners’ Rights and Positive Reinforcement. Guided by DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012, our dedicated teachers engaged in a reflective and meaningful discussion, deepening their understanding of child protection and how to foster a positive learning environment.

👏 Everyone was participative, open-minded, and full of energy until the very end. It was truly an inspiring session that empowered us to continue teaching with empathy, respect, and compassion.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
From: Kalangyawon National High School
Date: July 31, 2025

To our dear parents, guardians, and community members,
We would like to address the incident that occurred this afternoon involving several of our students who experienced symptoms of panic, dizziness, and difficulty breathing. Understandably, this caused concern and confusion among many who witnessed or heard about the event.
After the affected students were immediately brought to Carcar Provincial Hospital, a medical assessment was conducted. The attending physician confirmed that the cause was mass hysteria — a psychological response often triggered by extreme stress, high temperatures, and emotional contagion, particularly in group settings.
We recognize that some social media posts have suggested other causes. While we respect personal beliefs, we would like to emphasize that no evidence of any supernatural or spiritual cause has been found. This was a medical and psychological reaction to a stressful environment, and it was handled with urgency and care by our teachers, staff, and health professionals.
Thanks to the quick response of our faculty and support from the barangay and medical teams, all 19 students have been safely treated and have returned home in stable condition.
We ask for your understanding, sensitivity, and support as we continue to ensure the well-being of all our students. Let us be united in compassion rather than fear or blame, and continue to make our school a safe, respectful, and informed community for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Respectfully,
RAMIL M. GEMOTA/SCHOOL HEAD

LOOK: Kalangyawon National High School ends the first week of July, 2025 with pride and purpose.

As the sun sets on a fruitful week, students and teachers gathered for a meaningful Flag Retreat Ceremony by singing the "Pilipinas Kong Mahal" in unity and patriotism.

Beyond the academic excellence, the school also protects the mental and physical well-being of every learner in the mountain because a healthy mind and body are key towards success.

Kalangyawon National High School Joins Halad sa Sinulog 2025🥳✨

Today was a day of deep faith, joy, and thanksgiving as Kalangyawon National High School humbly joined the Halad sa Sinulog 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Ocaña. With every beat of the drum and every step of the dance, our students poured out their devotion to the beloved Señor Santo Niño, offering their talents as a sign of love, hope, and gratitude.

This beautiful offering would not have been possible without the heartfelt dedication and guidance of Mrs. Sandy Flor C. Villatima, as the Choreographer, whose passion and hard work inspired our students to perform with all their hearts. We are also deeply thankful to our ever-supportive School Principal, Dr. Ramil M. Gemota, for believing in our learners and encouraging them to shine.

Above all, we express our sincerest gratitude to Fr. Ruel G. Marigomen, our Parish Priest, for giving Kalangyawon National High School the honor and blessing to be part of this sacred celebration.

To our students, teachers, parents, and community for coming together to celebrate our faith, culture, and tradition, our deepest gratitude to all of you. Today, we were not just performers — we were servants of faith, bearers of tradition, and a family united in offering our humble praise to the Señor Santo Niño.

Viva Pit Señor!😇
