๐Ÿ“š Preparing Future Educators for the Classroom

As part of the preparations for the Practice Teaching Deployment of our 4th Year Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) students, a consultative meeting with parents was held at the LGU AVR, Carcar City, on August 3, 2026, to discuss the Department of Education (DepEd) requirement for an Emotional Fitness Certificate.

The meeting was led by Mr. Leonardo S. Sabellano, Program Head of the Bachelor of Arts in English Language, together with instructors Dr. Dolly Ann D. Caraca and Ms. Meribeth F. Lastima. During the meeting, parents were briefed on the purpose of the assessment, the procedures involved, and the importance of ensuring that future educators are emotionally prepared for the demands and responsibilities of the teaching profession. ๐Ÿ“–

Parents expressed their support for the initiative and appreciated the institution's commitment to transparency, particularly in emphasizing that the testing fee would be paid directly to the testing facility, rather than through the institution or any of its instructors.

The institution likewise extends its sincere gratitude to all the parents for their trust, cooperation, and continued support in guiding our future educators toward a meaningful and rewarding profession. ๐Ÿ’œโ™ฟ 48th National Disability Rights Week: Caravan of Services โ€“ A Celebration of Inclusion, Empowerment, and Solidarity โ™ฟ๐Ÿ’œ

Carcar City College proudly celebrates the successful conduct of the 48th National Disability Rights Week: Caravan of Services, held on July 22, 2026, with the theme:

"Rights First, Legislation Forward: Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development."

The activity was conducted in observance of Presidential Proclamation No. 597, s. 2024, and in accordance with CHED Memorandum No. 182, s. 2026, reaffirming the commitment of higher education institutions to uphold the rights, dignity, and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities through inclusive education, accessible services, and disability-responsive initiatives.

The celebration also supported the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by advancing equal participation and accessibility, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by strengthening awareness of disability rights and legislation, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaborative efforts of Carcar City College and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) of Carcar City.

This meaningful celebration brought together our CCCian Student Leaders from the Supreme Student Government, headed by Mr. Rovenick E. Tundag; the Bachelor of Public Administration, headed by Dr. Magnalisa F. Bonalos and Mr. Ryan M. Alito; the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, headed by Mr. Arnold C. Valleser; the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, headed by Dr. Reynaldo Ugbaniel and Ms. Rinna Marie Dela Peรฑa; and the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration, headed by Dr. Jonreil S. Traya, together with our students belonging to the Special Equity Groups โ€“ Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). United by a common purpose, they actively championed disability rights, inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all.
The event featured two enriching seminar sessions on "Types of Disabilities: Apparent and Non-Apparent" and "Rights-Based and PWD Sensitive Awareness," followed by the Mass Advocacy Signing, "Ink for Inclusion: Solidarity Wall of Disability Rights," and the PWD ID Registration Booth, which provided essential services to our PWD students.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the College Administration, headed by Dr. Jean S. Dabasol; the Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs, headed by Dr. Leonardo E. Lacostales; the Student Affairs and Services Office, headed by Mdm. Clarita A. Pangandoyon; our GAD Focal Person, Mdm. Rhea Mae R. Holoyohoy; our Scholarship and PWD Focal Person, Mdm. Rachel Rica A. Cuizon; and our College Psychometrician, Ms. Michelle Medida, for their unwavering support and steadfast commitment to making this celebration possible.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our valued partner, the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Office of Carcar City, headed by Ms. Abigail Gay S. Bogay, for their invaluable collaboration and dedication in bringing essential services closer to our students.

Potoy, College Nurse; and Mr. Ronald Resurrecion, CSWD Staffโ€”for generously sharing their expertise and inspiring our participants to become advocates for disability rights and inclusive development.

Carcar City College proudly participated in the 2026 International Relations Officers (IRO) Visayas Congress, held on June 30โ€“July 1, 2026, at the Siquijor State College Convention Center.

Representing the College were Dr. Dolly Ann D. Caraca, Director for Internationalization, and Ms. Berna O. Velez, Internationalization Technical Support Staff.

The two-day congress brought together internationalization leaders from higher education institutions across the Visayas to exchange best practices, explore global scholarship and mobility opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and discuss innovative approaches to advancing internationalization in Philippine higher education.

Carcar City College and Tsukubamirai City successfully concluded the final session of the Pilot Online Language and Cultural Exchange Program on June 30, 2026, with the active participation of our faculty and staff.

This milestone marks the beginning of a stronger international partnership, fostering meaningful cultural understanding, global collaboration, and professional growth. As we celebrate the success of this pilot initiative, we look forward to expanding our partnership through future student, faculty, and staff mobility programs, creating more opportunities for international learning and exchange.

This initiative is designed to provide financial support to qualified incoming first-year college students from recognized Special Equity Groups (SEGs). By extending this opportunity, the program seeks to advance equitable access to higher education, strengthen student retention, and promote the successful completion of undergraduate studies.
