Our school officially launched the ARAL SUMMER PROGRAM 2026 ‼️

The DepEd ARAL Summer Program 2026 is a 20-day intensive remedial initiative (May 6 – June 2, 2026) targeting struggling learners in Grades 2-11 to boost proficiency in reading, mathematics, and science. It focuses on intensive tutoring using targeted, research-based strategies following DepEd Order No. 010, s. 2026 guidelines.

The SBFP (School-Based Feeding Program) is DepEd's initiative under the Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act (RA 11037) to combat hunger, improve nutrition, and boost attendance for undernourished Kinder to Grade 6 students by providing hot meals or nutritious food products (NFPs) and milk, with recent updates focusing on year-round feeding by providing healthy balanced meals, school feeding programmes can improve overall micronutrient status and reduce the prevalence of anaemia in primary school-aged children and adolescent girls.

Andres Lumaya Elementary School Faculty and Staff collaboratively exerts effort and time in providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of SBFP.

The school successfully conducted the National Autism Consciousness Week with the theme: “Mula Kamalayan Tungo sa Gawa: Pag-unlad ng Autism-Ok Philippines.”

Every third week of January is celebrated as National Autism Consciousness Week. This is the time to raise awareness through sharing vital information about this lifelong neurological disorder and to bolster our commitment for the inclusion of people with autism. This annual celebration is conducted as a response to the increasing statistics of Filipinos diagnosed with this condition and has been supported by the Proclamation No. 711 signed on Jan. 4, 1996, by then President Fidel Ramos.

The School SNED Coordinator, Ma’am Madelyn L. Masinaring, T-II facilitated the activity.

The activity featured student participation to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity. This meaningful initiative aimed to increase awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), encourage empathy among learners, and strengthen the school’s commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment where every child is valued and respected.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability characterized by social and communication deficits that impede optimal functioning. The cause of this condition has remained unknown yet has been linked to genetics. Some autistic people have difficulty in making eye contact, understanding or using spoken language and expressing emotions or feelings which sometimes lead to self-harming behavior, tantrums and aggression. These characteristics of autism may be detected in early childhood, but autism is often not diagnosed until much later.

Multigrade teaching is an educational approach where one teacher instructs students from two or more different grade levels simultaneously in a single classroom, common in rural or remote areas due to low enrollment or teacher shortages, but also used intentionally to foster peer learning, social skills, and personalized instruction by grouping diverse ages and abilities together for a more holistic educational experience.
