𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 π—œπ—‘ - 𝗦π—₯π—œ π—œπ—¦ π—₯π—˜π—”π—Ÿ
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Department of Education (DepEd) to collaborate on increasing the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for public school teachers from β‚±18,000 to β‚±20,000. The initiative aims to recognize the dedication of approximately 1,011,800 DepEd personnel.

Marcos tasked the agencies to explore budgetary measures to implement the increase this December 2024 while considering fiscal constraints. Education Secretary Sonny Angara praised the directive as a morale booster for educators and emphasized its role in supporting teachers' contributions to shaping Filipino youth. Further details on the implementation will be announced as funding plans are finalized.
