LOOK: Magsaysay National High School actively participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026 headed by the school Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM) team.
Students, faculty, and staff carried out evacuation procedures and followed safety protocols with discipline and cooperation to ensure readiness in the event of an earthquake or other emergencies.

MNHS opens SY 2026â2027 with âGABAY ORSEMâ Student Orientation

Magsaysay National High School formally opened School Year 2026â2027 with the âGABAY ORSEM: Orientation Seminar for a New Academic Beginningâ held on June 10, 2026 at the MNHS Quadrangle.
The orientation, one of the activities under the opening block, provided students with essential information on school policies, the revised threeâterm calendar, classroomâbased assessment, and the student handbook.
Faculty members and learners from Grades 7 to 12 actively participated in the program.
Faculty President Guia Salinillas led the introduction of teachers, advisers, and nonâteaching staff.
School Paper Adviser Christine Malaluan discussed DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026, explaining the rationale behind the new academic schedule and how the threeâterm system will work.
Meanwhile, Christian Bellen presented the revised guidelines on classroomâbased assessment, examinations, and awards under the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
School Librarian Armela Servidad oriented students on library policies and learning continuity in emergencies, while SSLG Adviser Angelica Escartin reminded learners to choose responsible leaders in clubs and organizations.
Guidance Coordinator Marites Estabaya explained the student handbook, and Salinillas announced updates on the PE uniform and the distribution of free student IDs.
Reading Coordinator Ma. Elaine Alcantara introduced the PhilâIRI, group screening tests, and other diagnostic assessments such as the Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA).
She emphasized that the orientation helps students prepare for the new trimester system and strengthens their listening and comprehension skills.
SSLG President Zion M. Glomar capped the program with his State of Learner Government Address (SOLGA), presenting plans and initiatives for the school year.

LOOK: Students trooped back to Magsaysay National High School on June 8, 2026 for the first day of classes, welcomed by a flag ceremony and an inspirational message from newly designated school head Sir Luisito Mendez.
After the flag ceremony, Mendez introduced himself to the learners as the new school head and encouraged them to attend school regularly and follow the guidance of their teachers. He emphasized that discipline, perseverance, and respect for mentors are vital to achieving success in education.
The opening day set a hopeful tone for the academic year, with teachers and students expressing optimism that Mendezâs leadership would strengthen the schoolâs commitment to quality learning.

MNHS grounds ready for class opening
The school grounds of Magsaysay National High School have been cleaned and prepared through the collective efforts of stakeholders during Brigada Eskwela 2026 which ensured readiness for the opening of classes on June 8, 2026.
Teachers, parents, barangay officials, students, and community volunteers joined forces to clear and organize the campus, creating a safe and welcoming environment for learners.
The activity was part of the nationwide Brigada Eskwela initiative, which encouraged community cooperation in preparing schools for the academic year.
MNHS School Head Luisito B. Mendez expressed gratitude to all participants, noting that the success of Brigada Eskwela reflects the communityâs commitment to education and the welfare of students.

DIWA NG BAYANIHAN, NAMAYANI SA PAGBUBUKAS NG BRIGADA ESKWELA SA MNHS
Nakibahagi ang ibaât ibang internal at external stakeholders ng Magsaysay National High School sa pormal na pagbubukas ng Brigada Eskwela ngayonh araw bilang bahagi ng paghahanda ng pasilidad at kapaligiran ng paaralan bago ang pormal na pagbubukas ng klase.
Ang nasabing aktibidad ay opisyal na pinangunahan ni Guia Salinillas, faculty president at nilahukan ng ibaât ibang sektor ng komunidad na nagkaisa para sa iisang layunin sa paaralan.
Nakiisa rin sa malawakang paglilinis at pagsasaayos ng paaralan ang mga kinatawan ng DOLE TUPAD Program na nagpaabot ng kanilang tulong at serbisyo upang mapaganda at mapalinis ang eskwelahan.
Bukod sa mga g**o at kawani, naging aktibo rin sa pagboboluntaryo at pagtulong sa mga gawain ang mga opisyales ng Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) upang maging mabilis at maayos na pagsasagawa ng mga gawain sa unang araw ng aktibidad.
Sa panayam ng The Stance Publication, ibinahagi ni Zion Glomar, pangulo ng SSLG, ang kanyang pasasalamat at dedikasyon sa gawaing bayanihan.
âLubos akong nagpapasalamat dahil sa pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng bawat isa ay naging matagumpay ang aktibidad. Kaya bilang SSLG President, patuloy kaming tutulong sa mga susunod pang araw ng paglilinis na sana ay maging matagumpay pa rin,â pahayag ni Glomar.
Sa ngalan naman ng bagong Punong-Guro ng MNHS na si Luisito Mendez, nagbigay ng mensahe si Marites Estabaya, na sinabing ang tagumpay ng pagbubukas ng brigada eskwela ay dulot ng sama-samang pagsisikap ng lahat.
âMatagumpay na naisagawa ang pagbubukas ng Brigada Eskwela dahil sa tulong ng lahat ng dumalong mga magulang, mag-aaral, mga opisyal ng barangay, at mga kapulisan,â ani Estabaya.
Idinagdag pa niya na naging napakaganda at maayos ang naging daloy ng buong programa at aktibidad dahil sa aktibong pakikilahok at pakikipagtulungan ng bawat kalahok mula sa simula hanggang sa pagtatapos ng gawain.
Kasama ni Estabaya sa mga nagparating ng kani-kanilang mensahe ng suporta at paghihikayat para sa gawain ng paaralan sina Sangguniang Kabataan Chairwoman Patrice Ann Candano, Kagawad Felipa Perillo, at Patrolman Joseph S. PardiĂąas na kumatawan sa R-PSB.

Faculty members of Magsaysay National High School (MNHS) participated in the Orientation on Learning System Reform Policies for Teachers held on May 15, 2026 at Gonzalo Aler National High School (GANHS).
The activity brought together educators from Cluster 3 schools, which include, MNHS, GANHS, Capalonga National High School, Capalonga Parochial School, and Capalonga Institute.
The orientation was organized under the Department of Educationâs reform initiatives to prepare teachers for the upcoming academic year.
Discussions centered on the implementation of the three-term school calendar, revised classroom assessment and grading system, flexible learning programs, and the strengthened Senior High School curriculum.
Education officials from the Central Office emphasized that the reforms aim to reduce teacher workload while improving student learning outcomes.
They said cluster-based orientations such as this ensure that teachers are aligned with national directives while fostering collaboration among schools in the district.
Faculty members of MNHS expressed their readiness to apply the reforms in their classrooms, along with their commitment to delivering quality education and supporting learners in adapting to the changes.
