Na Kung saan nagkariin din ng maikling orientation tungkol dito.

Ito isang napakahalagang bahagi ng ating kasaysayan at soberanya bilang mga Pilipino — ang *2016 Arbitral Award tungkol sa West Philippine Sea*.

Noong July 2016, isang desisyon ang inilabas ng isang Arbitral Tribunal sa ilalim ng United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, o UNCLOS.
Sa desisyong ito, kinilala at pinagtibay na may *Exclusive Economic Zone o EEZ* ang Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea — saklaw na 200 nautical miles mula sa ating baybayin.

Ano ang ibig sabihin nito?

Ibig sabihin, alinsunod sa batas pandagat ng mundo, ang mga yamang-dagat, isda, langis, at gas na nasa loob ng EEZ na ito ay *para sa mga Pilipino*. Dito may karapatan ang ating mga mangingisda na mangisda, ang ating pamahalaan na protektahan, at ang ating bansa na pangalagaan ang kalikasan.

Ang ruling na ito ay hindi panawagan ng gulo. Ito ay panawagan ng *kapayapaan, batas, at katarungan*.
Ito ay paalala na ang isang maliit na bansa, kapag nananindigan sa tama at sa batas, ay may boses sa mundo.

Bilang mga mag-aaral ng Puro ES, bakit natin ito dapat malaman?

Una, *para malaman natin kung ano ang atin*. Ang West Philippine Sea ay bahagi ng Pilipinas. Ang mapa ng bansa natin ay may kasamang dagat na dapat nating mahalin at protektahan.

Pangalawa, *para maging mapanuri at responsable*. Sa panahon ngayon ng social media, mahalagang alam natin ang katotohanan na nakabase sa batas at kasaysayan.

At pangatlo, *para mahalin natin ang bayan*. Ang pag-ibig sa bayan ay hindi lang watawat at awit. Minsan, ito ay ang pag-alala na may mga teritoryo, karapatan, at kinabukasan tayong dapat ipaglaban sa paraang mapayapa at may dangal.

Mga kabataang Puro, kayo ang magiging tagapagtanggol ng bayan bukas — hindi sa armas, kundi sa kaalaman, sa disiplina, at sa pagiging mabuting Pilipino.

It's a heartwarming day again at Puro Elementary School as they gather for the Annual School Feeding Program through the Birthday Celebration of the generous Lady Josie Quibol Felicitas- Hawaii, the Assistant Treasurer of the AKAMAI Ladies of the Order of the Knights of Rizal Hawaii Chapter, together with her equally kind and generous husband, Sir Jerry S. Felicitas, KGOR and Regional Commander of the Knights of Rizal Western USA Region.
Through the initiative and unwavering support of the former PuES School Principal II, Mrs. Justina B. Cerna, this noble undertaking once again brought joy and nourishment to the learners of Puro Elementary School.
The pupils were all smiling and filled with excitement as they enjoyed the appetizing and nutritious lunch prepared especially for them. Their happiness and gratitude were evident, making the occasion a truly meaningful celebration of compassion, service, and love for education.
Indeed, this annual act of kindness reflects the spirit of generosity and concern for the welfare of every child. The entire Puro Elementary School family extends its heartfelt appreciation to Lady Josie Quibol Felicitas and Sir Jerry S. Felicitas, as well as to Mrs. Justina B. Cerna, for making this special event possible. Their continued support serves as an inspiration and a shining example of selfless service to the school.
