CANDON CITY โ Marc Kenneth O. Drije, an Instructor of the College of Teacher Education (CTE), disclosed his secrets for success in his interview for the EduChika episode three (How To Be You?) at the annex building of the School Division Office of Candon City, Monday, September 09, 2025.
In this interview, Drije shared his personal journey from being the President of Federated Supreme Student Government (SSG) of Candon City in 2018 โ 2019 to becoming a college instructor of CTE, adviser of Future Educatorsโ Association (FEA), and coordinator of Culture and Arts in the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College โ Main Campus.
Reflecting on the opportunity to be featured, Drije said, โโฆI think the Candon [City] Division played an important role in my growth as a student leader before through the experiences and learnings they taught me, and I carry those lessons with me now as an educator and adviser of the Future Educatorsโ Association.โ
Meanwhile, when asked about his message for students and teachers, Drije emphasized the value of leading by example - โWe cannot force change, but we can be an example of change.โ
He added that โReal change does not happen overnight. It requires hard work and a commitment to empower others. As educators, we play a pivotal role in nurturing skills, honing values, and shaping leadership. We are not only the voice of the voiceless, but also their guiding light in achieving their goals and dreams โ not just for themselves, but for their organizations and communities as well.โ
His overall interview highlighted the significance of perseverance, discipline, and servant leadership in achieving success in professional and personal aspects of life.
The upcoming episode aims to inspire students and young leaders, particularly those who strive to balance academics with leadership roles. The said episode is set to release on September 26, 2025, on SDO Candon City Official page.
