Inspiring Change Through Leadership at YOUth CAN DOn IT Year 2

Leadership is not just about holding a positionโ€”it is about creating positive change, inspiring others, and leading with purpose. With this in mind, the Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG), together with the YES-O and BKD of Candon City High School, proudly attended the YOUth CAN DOn IT: Leadership Symposium Year 2, held at the Schools Division Office of Candon City annex building 4th floor on June 13, 2026.

Two outstanding guest speakers graced the symposium. One of them was Atty. Connie Joy Omaeong Manzano, who discussed the topic "Safe Spaces Act" and emphasized the importance of creating respectful, inclusive, and secure environments for everyone. The other speaker was ASDD Mar Go of JCI Philippines Visayas, who shared valuable insights on "Leadership in the Digital Age," inspiring student leaders to adapt, innovate, and lead responsibly in an increasingly digital world.

After the symposium, our Vice Mayor, Kristelle Singson, awarded the Young Leaders Excellence Award (YLEA) to 15 student leaders. Among the awardees were Elmira Jane D. Gagto, SSLG President of Candon City High School, and Vic M. Oliveros, YES-O President of Candon City High School.

Congratulations to all the awardees and participants for continuously embodying excellence, leadership, and service. Together, let us continue proving that YOUth CAN DOn IT!

As we honor this historic day, may we remember that freedom is more than a date we celebrate; it is a legacy we are called to protect.

The heroes of yesterday fought for the Philippines they dreamed of. The question for us today is:

STUDENT ORIENTATION 2026 โœจ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’š

Today, June 9, 2026, Candon City High School successfully conducted its Student Orientation Program, warmly welcoming both new and returning CityHighโ€™ans as they begin another academic year.

The program served as an avenue for students to become familiar with the school's policies, academic expectations, student services, and opportunities for involvement through various school organizations. Through informative presentations and engaging activities, participants gained valuable insights that will help them navigate their educational journey with confidence and responsibility.

The orientation also featured the Presentation of the General Plan of Activities (GPOA) of the school's three student organizationsโ€”the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), and Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD). This presentation provided students with an overview of the organizations' upcoming programs, projects, and initiatives for the school year, encouraging active participation and student leadership.

This accomplishment was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the SSLG, YES-O, BKD, faculty members, and school administrators. Their dedication and commitment contributed to the smooth and meaningful implementation of the orientation program.

Welcome back, CityHighโ€™ians! As we begin another exciting school year, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Candon City High School conducted a meaningful opening program to warmly welcome students and celebrate a fresh start for a new academic adventure.

Adding color and excitement to the event, the Color Guards and Majorettes of the CCHS Drum and Lyre Corps showcased an impressive intermission number. The opening program served as a spark of joy and inspiration as we return to our second home, our school.
