Five of our student leaders have been awarded today during the Youth Leadership Excellence Award ceremony conducted by JCI Candon Goldleaf involving other 15 outstanding student leaders.

The recipients are Noemi Grace Passay (President of SSLG), Rhian Mae Velasco (Secretary of SSLG), Cheska Carmen (President of YES-O), May Gelyn Lim (Secretary of YES-O) and Andrea Gail Merillo (President of BKD).

This serves as a proof of the prominent role played by Gaculanians as youth leaders and their dedication to service and initiatives that leave a positive impact on their schools.

To commemorate the 128th National Independence Day, student leaders of DRGMNHS cooperated to add liveliness to the school grounds through the careful placement of colorful flaglets inside the campus. In essence, each flaglet stands as a testament to the freedom that our country enjoys, which is the result of the bravery and unity of our heroes in the struggle for independence.

Indeed, apart from demonstrating their skills in working together and exercising creativity, the student leaders managed to impart a sense of patriotism among their fellow students by adorning the school grounds. It was through this simple yet significant activity that they were able to reinforce the idea that Filipinos share a common identity characterized by resilience and hope.

As we observe this momentous day in Philippine history, let us remember our heroes and be thankful for the blessings of liberty.

DRGMNHS conducted a Learners' Assembly this afternoon to educate and guide students on how to become responsible, disciplined, and well-rounded learners.

Mrs. Edna G. Razo discussed the Learner Protection Policy, where she explained the students' rights, responsibilities, and the importance of practicing good values and moral conduct both inside and outside the school.

Mrs. Eleanor Batin also discussed Solid Waste Management, emphasizing the importance of proper waste disposal and environmental responsibility. She explained the 5Rs (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recovery, and Recycle) and encouraged students to apply these practices in their daily lives to help keep the school and community clean and sustainable.

The assembly served as an important opportunity for students to gain knowledge, strengthen their values, and become more responsible members of the school community.

The very first day of School Year 2026-2027 formally commenced with an opening program carried out by the SSLG, YES-O and BKD.

Through performing the flag ceremony, helping in pinning the sashes, escorting each pupil to their corresponding classes and giving our new Grade 7 members their temporary name tags, the whole student council joined hands to make every Gaculanian feel welcome.

As new faces come in and old ones return, may this be an exciting year full of learning, personal development, friendships and many more opportunities.
