Warm Welcome to Our Guests from Paranas, Samar! 🌟

BISU ADMINISTRATION/ BISU EXTENSION OFFICE AND CBM was honored to host Nanay Mayor Elvira Babalcon and Vice Mayor Atty. Eunice Babalcon during their recent visit from Paranas, Samar. The guests were warmly welcomed by our CBM students, who greeted them with colorful flaglets and a lively performance by the BISU Band.

The program began with a pictorial session with all delegates, followed by a short program that highlighted the vibrant spirit of our campus. Guests then enjoyed a delightful dinner, and the evening socials were brought to life by performances from the CBM Sky Movers Society and our talented CBM singers.

This learning exchange tour was meticulously arranged and organized by CAROOD and our dedicated staff, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for everyone. Our Campus Director and Director of Extension expressed their gratitude for the successful ex*****on of the events and the heartwarming reactions of our esteemed guests.

Panadtaran, Bohol became a vibrant hub of learning and collaboration as CBM faculty members conducted an extension project for PAMPI, bringing both expertise and inspiration to the community. The event highlighted not only the knowledge of the faculty but also the skills and talents of BSHM students—serving as a living testament to how effective knowledge transfer shapes future professionals.

The program featured a series of engaging and practical topics delivered by dedicated resource speakers. Mrs. Lilanie Olaso led the discussion on Hygiene and Food Safety, emphasizing the importance of proper food handling and sanitation. Dr. Arlinda N. Ramasola, Dean of CBM, showcased creativity and artistry through Centerpiece Making, including flower arrangements and fruit and vegetable carving.

Mr. Gary Torreon, Department Chair of BSHM, shared valuable insights on Customer Service, highlighting the importance of professionalism and guest satisfaction. Ms. Lezyl Macas, the Project Manager, demonstrated techniques in Table Skirting, while Ms. Jessa Cimagala guided participants in the art of Table Napkin Folding. Mr. Darwin Lim discussed best practices in Food and Beverage Service, and Mr. Jesszon Cano addressed effective strategies in Handling Guest Complaints.

BSHM students actively assisted the faculty during the demonstrations, confidently showcasing their acquired skills and talents. Their participation clearly reflected the quality of training and mentorship they receive, proving that learning goes beyond the classroom and into real-world application.

The success of the event was made even more meaningful through the warm support and cooperation of the people of Carood. Their enthusiasm and hospitality helped create a memorable and impactful experience for everyone involved.

The College of Business and Management proudly took part in the celebration of National Women’s Month through an energizing Fun Run that kicked off at 4:30 AM. CBM faculty members joined the activity, choosing among the 3K, 5K, and 8K distance categories, showcasing not only physical endurance but also unity and support for women’s empowerment.

The event highlights the importance of promoting health, wellness, and gender equality while honoring the vital role of women in society. More than just a fitness activity, the Fun Run served as a symbol of strength, resilience, and collective action—values that CBM continues to uphold in both academic and community engagements.

The College of Business and Management – BSOA proudly conducted an extension activity for the Tugas Women’s Group through its project, “Amping Negosyo.” This initiative aims to empower women in the community by equipping them with practical knowledge and skills in small business management, financial literacy, and sustainable livelihood practices.

The Paranas Learning Exchange Tour stands as a meaningful and enriching initiative that highlights the importance of collaboration, community engagement, and shared learning—values that are central to the College of Business and Management (CBM). With the participation of CBM Dean Dr. Arlinda N. Ramasola and CBM faculty extensionist Mrs. Lorna Caballero, the tour provided a valuable platform to exchange knowledge, best practices, and innovative ideas with the local community of Paranas.

This experience is highly relevant to CBM’s mission of producing socially responsible and community-oriented professionals. Through direct exposure to local governance, entrepreneurship, and community development efforts in Paranas, the participants gained practical insights that can enhance CBM’s extension programs, research initiatives, and classroom instruction. The learning exchange fosters stronger linkages between the academe and local government units, reinforcing CBM’s role in nation-building and grassroots development.

Dr. Ramasola and Mrs. Caballero extend their heartfelt gratitude to the people of Paranas for their warm hospitality. Special thanks are given to Mayor Babalcon and his daughter, Atty.
