"Good nutrition creates health in all areas of our existence. All parts are interconnected." — T. Colin Campbell
Health, wellness, and active living took center stage as Tayabas Western Academy successfully wrapped up its Nutrition Month Celebration on July 17, 2026. Organized by the Health Services Department in partnership with the High School Administration.
The morning began with a high-energy Mass Zumba session facilitated by the TWALindaw Dance Troupe and followed by the Opening Remarks of the High School Principal, Mr. John Joseph A. Umandap.
Friendly competition became the highlight of the event as students participated in the Wellness Olympics where Grade 10 claimed the title of Grand Winner. Their outstanding performance continued in the Junior High School Inter-Grade Level Zumba Competition, where they once again emerged victorious with an energetic and well-coordinated routine.
The celebration also recognized students who used their creativity to advocate healthy living through the Nutrition Month Video/Reel Challenge. The winning sections were 7 - Empathy, 8 - Azure, 9 - Archimedes , 10 - Lewis, 11 - Zuckerberg , and 12 STEM - Galilei, each producing inspiring entries that highlighted the value of proper nutrition and wellness.
The winners of the Best Nutrition Month Headdress were also announced after, where participants displayed innovative and eye-catching designs that reflected the spirit and theme of Nutrition Month.
To conclude the program, Academic Coordinator Mrs. Maria Edita C. Briones encouraged everyone to continue applying the lessons learned throughout the celebration, reminding students that proper nutrition, regular exercise, and healthy daily choices are essential to both academic excellence and personal well-being.
As the week-long event comes to an end, TWA's commitment to providing students with the right care and knowledge about nutrition doesn't end. The school will continue to promote awareness and be a center of not just academic excellence but a home of nourished learners.
