‎Mariing kinokundina at tinututulan ng Tarlac Agricultural University - Supreme Student Council ang iminumungkahing pagtatayo ng Pax Silica AI Hub sa New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac.

‎Bagama’t itinutulak ng pamahalaan at ng Estados Unidos ang humigit-kumulang 1,620-ektaryang economic security zone para sa advanced technology, semiconductors, at Artificial Intelligence (AI) na sinasabing magpapasok ng bilyun-bilyong dolyar na pamumuhunan at libo-libong trabaho, naninindigan ang TAU-SSC na hindi dapat mangingibabaw ang banyagang interes at modernisasyon kapalit ng kabuhayan ng mga lokal na komunidad.

‎Dahil dito, nanawagan ang TAU-SSC ng pananagutan mula sa mga kaugnay na ahensya. Ang tunay na kaunlaran ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa dami ng gusali at teknolohiya, kundi sa kung paano nito pinoprotektahan ang karapatan, pagkain, at kinabukasan ng mamamayan.

Following the directive of the Local Government Unit of Camiling, and in view of the continuing rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the issuance of a Yellow Rainfall Warning in Camiling, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) announces the suspension of classes for all undergraduate programs and the Laboratory School today, August 14, 2026.

While classes are suspended, all faculty members and non-teaching personnel are required to report to work onsite and perform their regular duties.

Students are advised to prioritize their safety, avoid unnecessary travel, and remain vigilant in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and other weather-related hazards.

The TAU community is encouraged to continue monitoring the University's official communication channels and advisories from local authorities for further updates.

Sa planong pagtatayo ng Pax Silica initiative sa New Clark City sa Capas, Tarlac, isang usaping pandaigdig ukol sa artificial intelligence at semiconductor industry ang unti-unting nagiging lokal na usapin, kabilang ang mga mag-aaral ng Tarlac Agricultural University.

Sa isinagawang sarbey ng TAU - The Golden Harvest nitong ika-10 ng Agosto, lumabas na halos tutol sa inisyatiba ang mga nakilahok na TAUians. Siyam (9) sa sampung (10) mag-aaral ng TAU ang ‘di pabor sa nasabing proyekto. Hindi lamang sa pagkaubos ng yaman ng bansa ang idiniin na dahilan, kundi pati ang posibleng pagkawala ng tirahan at hanapbuhay ng mga lokal.

Subalit, kamakailan lamang ay nilinaw ng Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) na ang planong Pax Silica development sa naturang lugar ay pangunahing nakatuon sa high-value manufacturing, partikular sa semiconductor at advanced technology industries, sa halip na maging isang malaking data-center hub.

Gayunman, hindi nito tuluyang inaalis ang mga usapin sa paggamit ng tubig at enerhiya, environmental safeguards, at posibleng epekto sa agrikultura at mga komunidad na nakapaligid sa proyekto.

Sa harap ng mga benepisyong inihahain at mga pangambang iniuugnay sa proyekto, mahalagang malaman kung ano ang tunay na nakapaloob dito.

Following the impact of Bagyong Maymay and Habagat, several communities in Camiling are now facing flooding, with families affected and in need of immediate assistance.
