The activity will feature ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐—ฅ๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฅ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—›. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ผ, ๐— .๐—ฆ๐—ฐ., recipient of the 2022 NAST Outstanding Book/Monograph (OBM) Award, as resource speaker. The writeshop aims to strengthen participantsโ€™ knowledge and skills in developing high-quality monographs that clearly and meaningfully communicate research, institutional initiatives, and relevant development experiences.

Speaker Brief Background:

Mr. Ric Ryan H. Regalado, M.Sc., is a researcher and science communicator with academic training in biology, molecular biology, and biotechnology. He earned his Master of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of the Philippines Diliman and graduated ๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bicol University. His research interests include microbiome studies, microbial ecology, metagenomics, environmental DNA, and environmental microbiology.

He is the recipient of the 2022 National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines Outstanding Book/Monograph Award and has contributed to scholarly publications and book chapters on mycology, biosafety and biosecurity, environmental microbiology, and climate vulnerability. His experience in research support, scientific writing, and publication makes him well-positioned to guide participants in developing rigorous, accessible, and engaging monographs.
