Can
Can = modal verb: modal of ability (helping verb)
Pattern: Can (modal verb: helping verb) + Vbase )base form of the verb
Example:
Can + help (Vbase)
Do/Does/Did= helping verbs; appear only in:
Do/Does = present verb form
Do = used with a plural subject or You or I
Pattern: Do + Vbase
a. Question
Example: Do you dance?
b. Negative
Example: I don’t dance.
c. Emphatic
Example: I do dance.
Does = used with a singular subject
Pattern: Does + Vbase
a. Question
Example: Does Jeremane dance?
b. Negative
Example: Jeremane doesn’t dance.
c. Emphatic
Example: Jeremane does dance.
Did = past verb form; can be used for singular or plural subjects or for I or You
Pattern: Did + Vbase
a. Question
Example: Did Jeremane dance?
b. Negative
Example: Jeremane didn’t dance.
c. Emphatic
Example: Jeremane did dance.
Note the emphatic verb form is used to emphasize verbs and make them more forceful.
In the sentence given “She ___ speak six languages.”, the subject “she” is singular, so “do” cannot be used as a helping verb.
Thefore, the answer is the helping verb “can”.

Correct Pattern: Had better + Vbase (base form of the verb)
Therefore, the correct pattern is l:
B. Had better reserve
Had better + reserve (vbase)
However,
Should and Had better are not the same:
Similiarities:
Both are used to give advice.
Difference:
Should: used to give advice or express which is a good thing to do
Example: You should quit smoking. (It is a good thing to do to quit smoking.)
Had better: used to give advice, but more on a warning since the focus is the consequence.
Example: You had better quit smoking, or else, you will end up sick. (It is a warning that there is a consequence if the advice is not done.)
Hope this helps:)

B. Noun
Articles a, an and the are only used to modify nouns. (*The can be used to modify adjectives though)
In this sentence (question), the word “watch” is before or modified by the article “a”; thefore, it is a noun.
A verb cannot be modified by an article.
Examples:
Watch as a verb:
1. I watch a movie during weekends.
Watch as a noun.
1. My mother gave me a watch.

Students
For “neither nor” and “either or”, the noun near the verb is considered for the verb form.
Since the blank is near the base form of the verb (want), a plural noun is needed. Therefore, “students” should be the answer.
To better understand it, here are the patterns and example:
Basic Pattern: Neither + noun + nor + noun + verb
Pattern 1: Neither + noun + nor + Singular Noun + Vs (singular form of a verb- with s
Example: Neither the students nor the teacher (noun near the verb: singular noun) wants (verb in singular form) it.
Pattern 2: Neither + noun + nor + Plural Noun + Vbase (base form or plural form of a verb- without s
Example: Neither the teacher nor the students (noun near the verb: plural noun) want (verb in plural/base form) it.
The same rules and patterns apply to sentences with “either or”.
Hope this helps. :)
