Welcome to the official page of Notre Dame of Greater Manila, a leading private, Catholic, basic education school located in Grace Park, Caloocan City. Fr. St.
The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate began establishing the parish of Grace Park in Caloocan City upon the suggestion of His Grace Michael O’Doherty, DD, the Archbishop of Manila, in 1946. Seeing the need to continue their apostolate among the youth and the poor, the Oblates assigned Fr. William McGrath, OMI, to open a Notre Dame school in at the Our Lady of Grace Parish. William McGrath, OMI
, opened the Elementary department of Notre Dame of Greater Manila with only 266 students from Kindergarten to Grade Five. The High School Department opened in 1965. The student population steadily increased, and in 1969, Notre Dame of Greater Manila (originally just Notre Dame of Manila) graduated its first high school seniors. There were 59 graduates of Class 1969. With the rise of population, the school needed more classrooms and other facilities. Where there was only one building when it opened in 1963, Notre Dame of Greater Manila is now a complex of original and new edifices. In keeping with the true Oblate spirit of evangelization, Notre Dame of Greater Manila opened its doors to the “indigent but deserving” high school students in 1975. The Night High School served the parishioners who desired quality Christian education for their sons and daughters but could not afford to enrol them in the Day High School program. High School volunteered teachers taught the same academic curriculum. Also, the same supervision, management, classroom facilities and equipment were made available to the Night High School students. In March of 1980, the first night high school graduates proudly received their diplomas together with their fellow Day School counterpart. From its inception until it was replaced by the Grant-in-Aid Program (GIAP) ten years later, students enrolled in the Night High School paid a token tuition fee of one hundred (100) pesos per month. In accommodating the increasing number of students and continually improving the school’s academic program and addressing several major administrative concerns, Notre Dame of Greater Manila set its sight by assessing its internal efficiency and quality through PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) accreditation. The preparation for accreditation began on October 1983. After a year of continuous self-survey analysis and evaluation, Notre Dame finally decided to undergo a PAASCU Preliminary survey on February 22-24, 1984. Because PAASCU is directional, definite sectoral plans emerged in the form of self-survey recommendations which subsequently became the basis of future development. High School accreditation
Thereupon, the High School department was officially granted accredited status by PAASCU on October 2, 1985. An interim visit conducted by PAASCU on February 25 and 26, 1991 once more conferred an accredited status on the High School sector. The PAASCU self-survey recommendations in the different institutional areas served as the direction and focus in upgrading the educational programs and management operations in preparation for a re-survey in SY 1994-1995. On October 6-7, 1994, the resurvey was conducted and a second five (5) year period of reaccredited status was granted. The third formal resurvey was held on January 18 – 19 2001. Once again, Notre Dame High School earned another five (5) year accredited status which is scheduled to expire on May 2006. In the 2006 fourth formal accreditation the PAASCU team recommendation states: “The team recommends that the High School Department of Notre Dame of Greater Manila be granted re-accreditation for a period of five years with an interim visit on the third year for the areas of Faculty and Instruction.”
After the PAASCU report was received, the High School relentlessly prepared for the 2012 fifth formal accreditation, which it happily received and would be valid until 2017. Elementary School accreditation
Following the successful accreditation of the High School, the Grade School department accepted the challenge to work for its accreditation. Motivated by the encouraging results of the Preliminary Survey conducted by PAASCU on February 26 and 27, 1987, the Grade School prepared for the first Formal Visit on January 25-27, 1988. It was noted that the Grade School was more thorough. This facilitated the early recognition given by PAASCU for a period of three years. On February 20-21, 1992 the second Resurvey Visit was successfully conducted. A unanimous vote by the PAASCU Board of Directors granted the Grade School its second accredited status for a duration of five (5) years. The third Formal Visit of PAASCU was November 2003 wherein the Grade School earned another five (5) year accredited status. The 4th Formal Visit was held on December 1 and 2, 2009; and the Grade School once again proved to have satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled the requirements of PAASCU, thus it earned another five (5) year accredited status until May 2015. In 2016, the Elementary School was granted another clean 5-year reaccreditation until 2021. This most recent achievement is very significant, as it also puts the Elementary School in the position to move up to Level III, possibly within SY 2016-17. Senior High School
In 2012, NDGM began preparing for the Enhanced Basic Education Program of the Department of Education, particularly the introduction of the Senior High School Program in 2016. The Senior High School opened its doors to its first batch of Grade 11 students on June 27, 2016, with 333 students across three strands of the Academic Track—Accountancy, Business, and Management; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; and Humanities and Social Studies. A new building, named after Archbishop Gerard Mongeau, OMI, was blessed on June 8, 2016, to house the Grades 11 and 12 Senior High School Program. Vision-Mission 2014
Concerned that NDGM should have a deliberate blueprint in looking forward to the future, the Vision Mission was further clarified and sharpened in 2014, and a new strategic plan was crafted in the midst of an increasingly challenging educational environment. The NDGM Vision-Mission reads thus:
Notre Dame of Greater Manila is a leading community of whole-person learning and evangelization in the 21st century. We nurture compassionate hearts and passionate minds in the service of society. A further elaboration of the Vision-Mission in terms of educational principles and core values offers the following description:

the love of God in Jesus Christ. Mary is our model of evangelization. Eugene de Mazenod is our inspiration

So many of us wait for the “perfect moment,” the perfect plan, or the confidence to magically appear before we take that first step. But the truth is, greatness isn’t where you begin--it’s what you build over time. Every expert was once a beginner. Every success story started with someone deciding to try, even while feeling unsure.
Today is your reminder that it’s okay to start messy. It’s okay to not have everything figured out. What matters is that you show up, take that first step, and keep going. Progress comes from action, not perfection.
This week, don’t overthink it--just begin. 🚀
