This is probably one of my favourite sketches 🤗

I did this as a demonstration sketch on an online class from 2021, via zoom for my drawing class.

💙 Did you know that 2021 was the busiest year for me, I had art classes almost everyday, like 2 or more sessions per day. (At the comfort of my own room)✨

Songs and smells will bring you back to a moment in time more than anything else. It's amazing how much can be conjured with a few notes of a song or a solitary whiff of a room. A song you didn't even pay attention to at the time, a place that you didn't even know had a particular smell.

A lot of people stop feeling things long before they realize it.

Everything becomes routine. Fast. Repetitive. Predictable. Days start blending together. Opinions become recycled. Attention gets shorter. Emotions become quieter. People slowly disconnect from themselves without even noticing it happening.

That’s one of the reasons creativity matters so much.

Creating interrupts that numbness.

Not only through painting, music, writing, filmmaking, photography, design, sculpture, or movement — but through the act of paying attention again. Creativity forces people to observe more deeply, feel more honestly, question more openly, and reconnect with parts of themselves that daily life constantly tries to flatten.

Artists understand this feeling in a very real way.

The process of making something often becomes more than productivity. It becomes survival. A reminder that sensitivity still exists. A reminder that imagination still exists. A reminder that there is still something human underneath all the nnoise

Art doesn’t make people weaker.

It makes people present again.

And maybe that’s why creativity will always matter in every culture that tries to make people emotionally smaller, quieter, and easier to distract.
