UCC Psychology Society - North Campus

The 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 distributed rice subsidies to 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 students today, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the UCC - Congressional Campus, with student representatives and program assistants facilitating the event.

Student staff from the 𝐔𝐂𝐂 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, university 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬, and associates from the 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (CSWDD) guided the students to successfully execute their main initiative and extended 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 to the learners' families.

On 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟲, 𝟭𝟴𝟯𝟮, a remarkable figure in psychology was born. 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺 𝗪𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁 is the 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, as he distinguished psychology from philosophy and biology, and established it as an independent scientific discipline.

In 1879, he founded the very first experimental psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig, which brought major changes to how we study the human mind. He also pioneered structuralism and introspection that became the foundation for every experiment and theory we conduct and know in the present.

Today, we celebrate his brilliance and dedication and remember him as a vital catalyst for change in the field of psychology.

Pero.. kinabukasan lang ba talaga? 🤔

Hindi lamang tayo mga future leaders o future changemakers—kasama rin tayo sa present. 𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘂𝗽, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. Dahil ang pagiging kabataan ay hindi dahilan para manahimik; pagkakataon ito para maging bahagi ng pagbabago.

Ngayong International Youth Day, paalala na ang kabataan ay hindi lamang pag-asa ng bayan, kundi puwersa ng bayan sa kasalukuyan. Kaya habang may kinabukasang bubuuin, may kasalukuyan ding kailangan nating panindigan. Dahil ang bukas ay maaaring atin, pero ang ngayon? 𝗔𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗻. ☝️✨

Ang panukalang ordinansa ay iniakda ni 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 "𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐠" 𝐑. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 bilang pag-amyenda sa Ordinance No. 0684, Series of 2017.

Matatandaang ang Ordinance No. 0553, Series of 2014, na nagpatupad ng libreng edukasyon sa UCC para sa mga kwalipikadong estudyante, ay nagbigay ng pagkakataon sa libu-libong Caloocan scholars na makapag-aral nang walang tuition fee. Sa pamamagitan ng panukalang ito, layunin namang mabawasan pa ang natitirang gastusin ng mga estudyante sa panahon ng enrollment.

Sa isinagawang public hearing, walang naging pagtutol sa panukalang ordinansa at ito ay naaprubahan para sa Ikalawang Pagbasa (Second Reading) isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa mas abot-kaya at mas inklusibong edukasyon para sa bawat iskolar ng lungsod.

Bilang kinatawan ng mga mag-aaral ng Sikolohiya, ipinapahayag ng 𝐔𝐂𝐂 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 – 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 ang suporta nito sa mga programang naglalayong mapagaan ang pinansyal na pasanin ng mga estudyante at mapalawak ang kanilang pagkakataong makapagtapos ng kolehiyo.

Patuloy nating suportahan ang mga hakbang na nagbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad sa bawat Yusikolohista at sa buong komunidad ng University of Caloocan City.
