While I was reflecting on this, bigla ko tuloy naalala 'yung eksena sa novel ko na So, This is Youth (quotes sa picture) kung saan pinagsabihan ni Golda ang classmate niya:
And in that moment, I had a gentle reminder from GOD why WISDOM is WHAT WE MUST PURSUE.
Sa mundo, palagi nating pinapalakpakan ang matatalino. We give medals to the academic achievers, trophies to the quiz bee champions, and promotions to those with degrees and dazzling credentials.
Society places such a high value on intelligence, and rightly so! I'm not saying it's wrong to be smart. In fact, we're called to be excellent.
But I've been thinking...is that all there isโ
Aside from that, the smartest people can also make foolish decisions ('yung kasabihang "matalino ka nga, bobo ka naman sa pag-ibig, o mataas nga IQ mo mababa naman ang EQ or emotional intelligence mo" and so on).
Sometimes, the one who never topped a class holds the kind of understanding that changes lives.
Sabi sa Proverbs 9:10,
Not the beginning of intelligence. Not brilliance. Because wisdom starts with HUMILITY before God.
You see, intelligence is knowing how to build a house. Wisdom is knowing how to make it a home.
Intelligence can win debates.
Wisdom knows when silence is more powerful.
Intelligence may impress people. Wisdom impacts lives.
God doesn't frown upon intelligence.
God is not looking for minds filled with facts, He's looking for hearts filled with reverence o pusong tamang takot at pagkilala sa Kanya bilang Diyos na may alam ng lahat.
Let's go back to King Solomon, when God asked him for whatever he wanted. He could've asked for riches, power, or genius-level IQ. But he asked for WISDOM, because he knew leadership isn't just about strategy. It's not just about being great or smart, but it's about DOING GOOD.โจ
As someone who writes, creates, and dreams, I've learned this:๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
But if you have GOD-GIVEN WISDOM, you may not always get applause, but you will walk in peace, PURPOSE, and DIVINE FAVOR.
So to the one who wasn't top of the class, wag mong maliitin ang sarili mo. ๐
And to the one who is praised for being smart, stay humble. ๐
Because in the end, it's not about how much you know, but how deeply you know God, who is the Source of all true WISDOM.
