As part of the 𝐔𝐄-𝐒𝐎𝐊𝐀 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐈𝐄𝐖𝐂𝐄𝐏), the 𝐔𝐄-𝐒𝐎𝐊𝐀 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 brought the participants from SOKA University together to explore, appreciate, and celebrate the richness of Filipino culture. Through engaging activities, games, and performances, they discovered different Filipino traditions, customs, heritage, food, arts, and ways of life together with the Tourism students, gaining a deeper appreciation for what makes the country truly unique.

From discovering diverse Filipino traditions to sharing stories and experiences, the activity offers a meaningful space for cultural appreciation and connection. Participants get to interact with one another, learn from different perspectives, and experience Filipino culture in a more engaging and memorable way. Through these shared moments, the event became an opportunity to build friendships, broaden perspectives, and create lasting memories beyond the classroom.

The 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭–𝐒𝐎𝐊𝐀 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐈𝐄𝐖𝐂𝐄𝐏) officially commenced at the University of the East – Caloocan, marking the beginning of a meaningful journey of cultural exchange and international collaboration. On 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯, students from Soka University were warmly welcomed by the Tourism Management students, who guided them on a campus tour featuring the university’s key facilities, learning spaces, and events. Beyond introducing the campus, the tour became an opportunity for the students to build genuine connections, exchange cultural perspectives, and foster friendships grounded in mutual respect and understanding.

Another part of the program were engaging workshops and collaborative activities that encouraged active participation, teamwork, and effective communication. Through interactive discussions and educational exercises, participants shared ideas, strengthened their English communication skills, and gained a deeper appreciation of one another’s cultures, making the experience both enriching and memorable for everyone involved.

The University of the East Tourism Society proudly welcomed the newest Tourism Warriors during the Freshmen Welcoming Party held on July 29 at MPH 1, EN Building. The event was filled with exciting activities, meaningful introductions, and opportunities for freshmen to connect with fellow Tourism students. More than just a celebration, it served as a warm welcome to a new academic journey that inspires the freshmen to embrace new learning experiences, and build meaningful memories that will shape their college life.

Although the program was unfortunately cut short due to the announced class suspension, the event still ended on a positive note, leaving our freshmen with a fun, informative, and memorable experience. We sincerely thank everyone who participated and contributed to making the event a success. Here’s to a year filled with growth, meaningful connections, and exciting adventures.
