This morning, February 26, 2026, the College of Dentistry DMD Program, held a special conference in collaboration with GDS Dental Supply Phils., Inc., represented by Dr. Alec Matthew David and Ms. Joyce Umali, a trusted dental trade partner handling SDI dental products. As part of our curriculum enhancement program integrating the practice of lifelong learning, this partnership brought forward a valuable opportunity for students and faculty to engage with one of the leading innovators in dental materials and technology.
GDS sponsored a comprehensive product presentation delivered by Mr. Darren Jones, Sales Manager for Asia of SDI Limited Australia. His presentation highlighted SDIโs commitment to advancing dental care through highโquality, researchโdriven materials designed to elevate both clinical outcomes and patient experience.
With SDIโs guiding mantra, โYour Smile. Our Vision.โ, the session underscored the companyโs dedication to innovation and transformation in dental services. Mr. Jones introduced a range of restorative and preventive products, emphasizing how these materials enhance precision, efficiency, and reliability in clinical procedures. The demonstration allowed participants to appreciate the direct impact of such technologies in achieving more effective treatment outcomes.
The conference gathered fourth-year students, junior and senior clinicians, who actively engaged in the discussions and expressed appreciation for how SDIโs products can streamline procedures, strengthen patient care, and support modern dental practice. A significant portion of the presentation highlighted SDIโs alignment with dental public health principles, especially in pediatric and preventive dentistry, making the learning experience highly relevant to both academic and community-based dental practice.
For the faculty of COD, the event opened avenues for meaningful dialogue regarding potential future collaborations with SDI and GDS. These discussions touched on opportunities for enhancing clinic procedures, strengthening research initiatives, and integrating updated materials and techniques into dental instruction
The conference ultimately served not only as a product showcase but as an enriching platform for partnership, innovation, and the continued advancement of dental education and practice.
Thank you very much SDI and GDS Dental Supply Philippines!
