It is with deep sorrow that we share the sudden passing of our dear professor, Sir Arvin F. Bautista

In his short time as a new professor in our Communication Department this semester, Sir Arvin touched many lives as a devoted teacher, mentor, and friend in our Department. His dedication, kindness, and presence will be deeply missed by students and colleagues alike.

We invite everyone to pause for a quiet moment today to remember him. Please join us in offering prayers for the repose of his soul, and for comfort, strength, and healing for his family and loved ones during this time of sorrow.

It was a truly meaningful day for the sophomores in our COMMunity , as they witnessed and learned during the DokyUCCista seminar 2026 alongside our esteemed resource speaker, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗕𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲—Senior News Correspondent and News Anchor for GMA News. Through this seminar, the 2nd year students realized the true value of documentaries.

In his talk, he shared the importance of storytelling through visuals — not just images, but visuals with soul and truth behind them, a reminder close to every communicator's craft.

Sir Bam reminded them that: "we need to let our visuals speak in a way that captures the reality of an individual." Because they will not just produce a documentary, they will open the minds of everyone. A true story isn't just shown — it's felt. 🎥✨

He also left them with these words of wisdom: “May mga bagay na hindi natin agad makukuha, but it doesn't mean na susukuan mo na. Working in the media industry is really crucial, that's why being patient and working professionally are important.”

As our Sophomores prepare for DokyUCCista 2026, these lessons will surely guide them every step of the way.
