~Bioluminescence is the natural ability of some living organisms to produce and emit light! 💡 This magical glow happens through a chemical reaction between a molecule called luciferin and an enzyme called luciferase, often in the presence of oxygen.

You can spot this phenomenon in fireflies, deep-sea fishes, glow worms, fungi, and even some plankton that make the ocean sparkle at night 🌊✨. These glowing abilities can serve many purposes—attracting mates, luring prey, camouflaging, or scaring off predators!

AGHAMazing Day Eco-Warriors!

Did you know ⁉️

Meet K2-18b — an exoplanet located about 120 light-years away in the constellation Leo. It’s roughly 8.6 times the mass of Earth, which makes it a “super-Earth” or “mini-Neptune.”

What’s really fascinating? Scientists have found water v***r in its atmosphere! 💧 That’s the first time water has ever been detected around a planet in the habitable zone — the region where liquid water could exist.

But that’s not all. In 2023, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope picked up something even more intriguing — possible signs of a molecule called dimethyl sulfide (DMS). On Earth, DMS is only produced by living organisms like plankton. 👽🌊

Of course, it’s too early to say life really exists there — the data is still being studied. But if confirmed, K2-18b could be the first evidence of life beyond Earth!

So, the next time you look up at the night sky, remember — somewhere in the constellation Leo, a strange ocean world might just be teeming with life. 🌌🐚

Last September 19, 2025, our 𝙔𝙀𝙎-𝙊 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙨 proudly joined “𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞: 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐋𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬”
at PUP Sta. Mesa together with 350+ Pilipinas and other youth advocates.

Through this event, we experience the 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐n in the fight for climate justice. Each of us learned valuable lessons—not only about protecting the environment, but also about the importance of standing together for a sustainable and just future. 🌱
