Love is not the same for everyone.

While February 14 may appear to be a day dedicated to couples, filled with flowers and chocolates, it’s essential to remember that love extends beyond romantic relationships. Love can be found in the connection between friends, the nurturing bonds within families, and even in the simple acts of kindness from strangers.

Since love isn’t limited to romance, self-love is just as important. Being alone doesn’t equate to loneliness or being devoid of love—it's simply a reminder that love is unique for everyone, and not everyone seeks it in a romantic form.

Let nurturing yourself, recognizing your worth, and putting your well-being first be normalized. The hope to inspire others to embrace this practice more deeply may be filled with these inspiring pieces from The Banneret.

"Love is Strange"

It may be difficult for others to understand, but strange love often proves that the heart knows no boundaries, reminding us that love doesn’t always follow a predictable path.

Love doesn’t always follow the rules—it can be messy, complicated, and challenging, yet still feel profoundly right. Yes, it just feels so right and that feeling makes us blinded by it; thinking it is always possitive thing.

"Love at first sight"

It is that magical moment when two people meet and instantly feel a deep, undeniable connection. It’s as if time stands still, and everything in the world fades away except for the bond they share in that fleeting instant. It’s a feeling that Is hard to ignore and hurts deep especially when only one felt it.

It transforms us in ways we didn’t expect, reminding us that love is not just an emotion, but a powerful motivator.

“CASIO Seminar Equips Sophians with Advanced Math and Calculator Skills”

As part of this year's Math Week Celebration, Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan, Inc. hosted an enriching seminar for its high school students from Grades 9 to 12. The Casio Seminar held earlier today, January 28, 2025 provided an opportunity to discover unknown advanced calculator tricks and turn it into the learners' own mathematical knowledge, allowing them to further enhance their skills throughout the seminar.

Organized by the Engineering Society, Kimberly Faye Abijay and John Marlu Moleta seamlessly initiated and led the event as the masters of ceremony. They also energized the student's minds through a quick Q&A session, in which they actively connected with the students.

The microphone was eventually passed on to Ms. Thea Louise Carreon, who gave an insightful overview of the workshop's flow, allowing the crowd to prepare for what was to come, until finally introducing the guest speaker who would guide the session.

Sophians were able to vibe with the theme, "Master Every Calculation with CASIO" with CASIO Philippines' Academic Coordinator, Engr. Aaron John Moriones. Through his enjoyable and interactive teaching, useful information was able to seep into each mind, ranging from simple calculator tricks to in-depth discussions and tips.

The seminar enable students to maximize the potential of their tools while enhancing their understanding of complex mathematical concepts.

Through the guidance of Casio Philippines and the collaborative spirit of the Engineering Society, students were able to take another significant step further into preparing for their future— which could possibly contain quite a 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 of mathematics.

NATIONAL LITERATURE MONTH | Passion Burgeoning among Horrors of Ingenuity

National Literature Month has concluded, and The Banneret has prepared one final narrative for our audiences. This tale will fascinate and captivate our audiences while offering them a valuable moral lesson. For a true reader must absorb and apply what the tale conveys, rather than simply reading it. With that, one must sorely understand what they read.

"Ang Pag-Ibig ni Maryang Sinukuan," also known in English as "The Love of Maryang Sinukuan," was written by Severino Reyes, which became a popular children's story among our fellow Filipino citizens, particularly among children, for it depicts the incredible journey of a man named Banahaw to find his path way home. As he searched for his path, he encountered an alluring girl who captured his heart at first sight. Moreover, this folklore teaches that no matter how things turn against you, you must not give up, and the grunge must not be set ablaze, for doing so would only lead to your demise. Everyone's heart should be filled with love and generosity at all times. There may be moments when fate does not act as you expect, and they may be times that one must endure and sacrifice for the things they most cherish yet it does not necessarily mean that you need to stop pursuing and fighting for what you stand for.

To end, Happy National Literature Month, our dearest Sophians!

NATIONAL LITERATURE MONTH | Your Own Stories

In a few weeks, we will all bid our farewell to this school year, Sophians! And we want to give you a little tap on your back for overcoming everything. As part of our celebration of the literature month, we want to acknowledge those young aspiring writers in our generation, for they share their thoughts and experiences through writing. They feel heard and acknowledged from what they are doing.

As part of the Banneret, we encourage you all to write your thoughts and stories, whether it’s good or bad, whether it’s sad or not. Because in writing, we have no such thing as rules; you are free to express what you are feeling. From our legacy to yours, you are heard, your stories are heard. And you have the rights to share it to others, you have the rights to inspire people with your stories.

And no matter what language you speak, what ever color you have, you are seen and loved. Your words are made to inspire and aspire. Again, Happy Literature Month, Sophians! 💚
