Millennials and Centennials, learn from the wisdom of 28 year old General Manager, Rona Enabe.
She wrote me this response to my post on why young people shouldn’t be ultra sensitive:
“Thanks for speaking out about this Sir Jayson! I totally agree with this po. I’ve gained a lot of friends, older and more experienced than me because I did not take their critics/comments as offense but as a lesson.
I was sensitive too when I’m in the early stage of my career thus led me to resignation. Haha! But as I grew and met people, I have realized that you will not be easily offended if you have a TEACHABLE HEART.
We cant control people kung pano nila sabihin yung critics/comments nila. Some were gentle and some were harsh talaga. But we have the control on how we will take it - either as a lesson where we can use to grow or just a critic/comment that will make us rebel/magmalaki.
As I maintain the teachable attitude, the people (older and more experienced than me) are the ones I consider friends and some as mentors. 🙂
PS. They were surprised na may millennial pa daw po na katulad ko na hindi madali ma-offend. Karamihan daw po kasi talaga sa kaedaran ko ay feeling magaling na. My one mentor told me millenials are great, talented and we are knowledgeable but wisdom is only gained through experience in which the older generations can pass to our generation” 🙂
