MEGA JOB FAIR BRINGS ABOUT 3,000 JOB VACANCIES TO CALBAYOG

About 3,000 job vacancies are available to applicants at the Mega Job Fair 2026 today, October 8, at the Calbayog City Sports Center, according to Mr. Jojo Rosales, Political Affairs Officer of Senate President Sherwin "Win" Gatchalian.

In an interview with The Calbayog Journal, Rosales said the job fair is the first partnership between the Senate President, the City Government of Calbayog and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). He said the Senate President was moved to hold the job fair after seeing that many Filipinos are in need of work.

Rosales said the job fair series began in August and is being held in different cities and municipalities across the country. The next stops are Tacloban City on October 10 and Ormoc City on October 12.

Aside from applicants who pre-registered, walk-in applicants also came to the venue today. Rosales encouraged Calbayognon to take part, calling the job fair a rare opportunity because it is hosted by the city government in partnership with the Senate President.

To job seekers, Rosales urged them to be brave, to pray, to be themselves and to stay confident. He said the job fair is their chance to showcase their talents and to share the skills and knowledge they have gained with the companies they are applying to.
