Lady Gaga of Grade 9 dominates Math Drag Race Queen showdown

Aljan Mancol AKA Lady Gaga, a Grade 9-Chito Rono student, hailed as the first-ever Math Drag Race Queen after a cut-throat showdown with other five performers held yesterday, October 26, at Senior High School Building.

The competition was the highlight of the closing ceremony of the 33rd National Statistics Month celebration with the theme: Boosting the Country’s Recovery with Informed Decisions, Better Policies.

The Math Drag Race Queen showdown was divided into two parts namely: runway show and lip sync battle.

After the intense runway and lip sync battle showdowns, Aljan Mancol won the title, followed by Joseph Anabeso AKA Katy Perry of Grade 11 as the First Princess, and Reinfredo Cacho AKA Nicole Scherzinger of Grade 12 as the Second Princess.

On the other hand, Aljan Mancol AKA Lady Gaga brought home the Queen of the Runway, and the Lip Sync Ultimate Performer awards. Jevriel Siervo AKA Camila Cabello of Grade 10 was adjudged as the Darling of the Crowd.

Mr. Vernon Darrel Diego, Mr. Darius Maynard Sarmiento and Mr. Marc Nelson Ostulano, pre-service teachers from NwSSU served as the panel of adjudicators. #

Mathlete Org. elects new officers

The Mathlete Club, the school’s mathematics organization, elected its new set of officers for the school year 2022-2023, during the simultaneous clubbing event last September 14, at Grade 11-Sarakiki Festival classroom.

Eloisa Cuizon, a Grade 11-Karakol Festival student was elected as the new president. She emphasized the importance of camaraderie in an organization. “I wish everyone in this organization is committed enough as we have a lot of work to get done”, she uttered during her acceptance speech for presidency.

The organization is spearheaded by Mr. Romeo Carausos, Mathematics coordinator. Mrs. Nilda Carausos, Mrs. Aprille Abia, Mr. Eduardo Bautista, Jr., and Mr. Melvin Grafil are the org’s advisers.
