The Administration of Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. wishes to address the recent incident that has caused concern among members of our school community.

Immediately upon learning of the situation, the school administration took prompt action to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on campus. As a precautionary measure, the student directly involved in the incident has been temporarily prohibited from entering the school premises while a thorough investigation is being conducted and the matter is being properly addressed in accordance with school policies and due process.

Earlier today, the School Principal and other concerned officials discussed the incident and determined the appropriate measures to ensure the continued safety and security of our school community.

We wish to assure our students, parents, faculty, staff, and stakeholders that the school remains safe. All school personnel are on heightened alert and continue to work closely to maintain a secure learning environment for everyone.

At this time, classes and all scheduled school activities continue as planned while we closely monitor the situation. However, we fully respect the decision of any parent or guardian who may wish to fetch their child from school.

We also appeal to everyone to exercise responsibility and prudence in sharing information. We respectfully ask the public to refrain from circulating unverified reports, rumors, or misleading statements, as these may cause unnecessary fear, confusion, and unfairly affect the individuals involved. We encourage everyone to rely solely on official communications issued by the school while the appropriate processes are underway.

Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. remains committed to upholding the safety, welfare, and dignity of every member of our school community. We appreciate your trust, cooperation, understanding, and continued support during this time.

In light of the recent shooting incident at a school in Tacloban City, Leyte, Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. offers its prayers and expresses its solidarity with all those affected.

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and the entire CKC community remain our highest priority. We are strengthening our security measures, reviewing our emergency protocols, and enhancing coordination among school officials, parents, and students to help ensure a safe and secure learning environment.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, act responsibly, and support one another. Safety is a shared responsibility, and together we can foster a campus culture rooted in respect, care, and peace.

The CKC - Integrated Basic Education Department formally opened School Year 2026-2027 today, June 8, 2026, welcoming learners from the Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School units.

The opening of classes commenced with a flag ceremony and opening program, bringing together students, faculty members, administrators, and staff in a spirit of unity, gratitude, and enthusiasm for the new academic year. The program featured the opening remarks of Dr. Vilma C. Alburan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who warmly welcomed the learners and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with a new school year.

Following the program, students proceeded to their respective classrooms for orientation sessions, where they were introduced to school policies, academic expectations, and classroom routines designed to ensure a productive and meaningful learning experience throughout the year.

As a new chapter begins, CKC reaffirms its commitment to providing quality Catholic education that nurtures learners intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually.
