𝐀 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝟑𝟏 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐖𝐒𝐒𝐔 Main Campus and San Jorge Campus visited the City Mayor’s Office today, April 27, 2026, as part of their ongoing internship at the Calbayog City Hall – Management Information Systems Office.

Mayor Raymund “Monmon” C. Uy warmly received the interns, commending their dedication and eagerness to learn. He highlighted the importance of their training in preparing them for future careers in technology while also strengthening the city’s commitment to nurturing young professionals.

Their internship program will officially conclude on May 7, 2026, marking their last duty day at City Hall.

Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) joined fellow State Universities and Colleges in Eastern Visayas in marking the successful conclusion of the 39th EVRSCUAA Games 2026, held on April 24 at the LNU ORC Quadrangle.

With the theme “One SCUAA 8: Strengthening Unity Through Sports,” the event brought together 11 State Universities and Colleges across Eastern Visayas in a celebration of athletic excellence and camaraderie.

Highlights of the program included the awarding of winners, cultural performances, and the lowering of the EVRSCUAA banner, marking the official end of this year’s games. A formal turnover ceremony was also conducted, signaling the transition of hosting duties for the 40th EVRSCUAA Games.

Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) commenced the week with a solemn Flag Raising Ceremony held at the university grounds today, April 27, 2026. Led by personnel from the administrative division, the ceremony highlighted significant announcements and achievements for the institution. Engr. Ignacio G. Tocayon, OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs, informed the community of the deadlines for graduation requirements and extended his congratulations to the university delegates who brought honor to the university during the recently concluded SCUAA 2026 meet.


Meanwhile, Dr. Gil Leovigildo A. Ancheta, OIC University President, presided over the welcoming and induction of two new members into the university community. Dr. Ancheta led the oath-taking ceremony, officially integrating Engr. Romeo L. Guibao, a new faculty member from the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), and Ms. Gwenethvel Ygrubay, Legal Assistant II—a new non-teaching personnel from the University Legal Office, into the NwSSU family and emphasizing the university's commitment to excellence and growth in administration and education.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | In observance of the coming holiday, NwSSU declares May 1, 2026 as NO ONSITE DAY.

Meanwhile, on April 27-30, 2026 all university offices will temporarily revert to the standard 8-hour (8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) onsite work schedule to ensure full staffing and uninterrupted delivery of services.

This applies to both campuses.

𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟒 – 𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐀𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Anchored on the theme “One SCUAA VIII: Strengthening Unity Through Sports,” Day 4 featured the advancement of most sporting events into their championship rounds, highlighting intense matchups and standout performances. Student-athletes continue to demonstrate grit, discipline, and unity as they compete for victory.
