This quote by Walt Disney is a simple reminder that big ideas don't mean much without action. Itโ€™s so easy to spend all our time planning, talking about our goals, or overthinking the perfect moment, but nothing actually changes until we take that first real step.

So if we want to build something meaningful, we just have to stop talking about it and start putting in the work.

๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™›๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ: A lover of beauty; someone who finds beauty in all things.

A philocalist is someone who is able to cherish the little things.

The word โ€œ๐‘ท๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’๐’„๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’•โ€ comes from Greek roots: ๐™ฅ๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™ค- (meaning love or fondness) and ๐™ ๐™–๐™ก๐™ค๐™จ (meaning beautiful). Combined with the suffix -ist to describe a person who holds that trait.

So today, letโ€™s stop rushing through our days and start taking it all in. Life gets so much better when we actually romanticize it because we only get one shot at this, so we might as well appreciate how beautiful it is to be able to experience it all in this life.

This quote by Mahatma Gandhi reminds us that real change starts with us. That Instead of waiting for others or the world to get better, we have to step up and set the example. When we show the kindness, honesty, and effort we want to see in people around us, our choices add up and inspire everyone else to do the same.

So if we want to see a difference, we have to take that first step ourselves.

91st National Reading Week cm English Month โ€˜25 culminates

After a month-long journey of English contests and activities in celebration of the 91st National Reading Week cm English Month 2025, Calbayog City National High Schoolโ€™s (CCNHS) English Department and the English Erudite Club held its closing ceremony on December 5 at the Mel Senen Sarmiento (MSS) Hall.

The program started with opening remarks from Mr. Lido C. Manicane, English Department Head. He emphasized the importance of a deeper love for reading and appreciation for the English language and literature among students.

Subsequently, an inspiring message delivered by Mrs. Elizabeth B. Lumod, Assistant School Principal, ensued. โ€œItโ€™s important that we learn to communicate and share our ideas. The celebration is to remind us that every learner deserves an opportunity to strengthen their literacy,โ€ she emphasized.

The awarding and distribution of certificates to the winners of the Spelling Bee, Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, Extemporaneous Speaking, Declamation, Digital Poster-Making, and Advocacy Video-Making contests conducted in November was later followed.

Eventually, the cosplay parade began, featuring Junior High School students from Grades 7-10 in costumes portraying different literary characters.

The program concluded with closing remarks from the English Erudite Club Adviser, Ms. Jayrose D. Antor. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who participated in the monthโ€™s event and encouraged the audience to continue their love for reading and the English language.
