The 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 of 𝐁𝐒 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, attended the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 held on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, with the theme "𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞” provided valuable knowledge and insights.
The seminar discussed the importance of Intellectual Property under RA 8293, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and other IP rights that protect original ideas, creativity, and innovation. It also highlighted how Intellectual Property supports businesses, encourages innovation, and contributes to economic growth.
Special thanks to the guest speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳, 𝐏𝐡𝐃, for sharing meaningful discussions and inspiring the students to value and protect intellectual creations.

The 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲🎊, held on 𝗙𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟬𝟵,𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 under the theme “𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆,” brought together students to promote learning and collaboration in food technology.

Guest speaker 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗼, 𝗣𝗙𝗧., discussed 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 and stressed that food safety was both a right and a responsibility while honoring cultural traditions. The event concluded with team-building activities that fostered stronger connections to our fellow 𝗸𝗮𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗮🧡✨

A Celebration of Accredited Organization Awards, held on 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲. Aside from being accredited, PAFT-NSC also received 𝐎𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐎𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐔𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 for meeting the university’s standards in governance, documentation, and financial management and 𝐎𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 for being the first organization among all Student Body Organizations in the College of Agriculture and Technology to complete and submit the required documents.

This achievement is a result of the collective efforts and dedication of 𝐏𝐀𝐅𝐓-𝐍𝐒𝐂’𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 and 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, who continue to promote responsible leadership and meaningful service. As the organization celebrates this milestone, PAFT-NSC remains committed to transparency, integrity, and continuous improvement in support of food technology education and student development.

We were honored to learn from Ms. Maria Kristine Araza (Participant – Surabaya, Indonesia) and Mrs. Iris B. Bejasa, DBA, (Director of International Affairs) as they shared insights on global readiness and cultural understanding.

The Bachelor of Science in Food Technology proudly concluded their first-ever Educational tour in Cebu City held last October 22–24, 2025, with the participation of both third-year and fourth-year students. Accompanied by their Program Chair Mrs. Maria Norfrelij Juanillo and faculty members Ms. Maria Joana Nicolas and Mr. Jerwin Mabilangan, the tour served as a valuable opportunity for experiential learning and professional growth.

During the three-day tour, students visited various food manufacturing and processing facilities where they gained insights into food safety practices, quality control, production processes, and technological innovations shaping the modern food industry.

This successful activity reflects the BS Food Technology program’s commitment to providing holistic, hands-on, and industry-driven learning experiences that equip students to become competent, responsible, and future-ready Food Technologists. 💚

The Philippine Association of Food Technologist - NwSSU Student Chapter ( PAFT - NSC) successfully organized this year’s General Assembly held on September 10, 2025!

The said event was led by Mr. Jovert Roa, the PAFT-NSC President, presenting the calendar of activities for this academic year and the presentation of the new design for the organization’s shirt. The event also featured the oath-taking of the newly elected officers, marking the start of their term of service. A special moment of the event was the formal turnover of leadership from the outgoing president, Ms. Ma. Maureen Serrato, to Mr. Jovert Roa that symbolizes the continuity of commitment and dedication within the organization.

And special thanks to our dedicated faculty advisers, Ms. Ma. Norfrelij Cuadra and Ms. Maria Joana Nicolas, and of course, to our supportive CAT Department Dean, Dr. Jessie R. Sabijon, for their continued support and encouragement.
