𝗖𝗖𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗬 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣 𝗞𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) officially opened OWN IT: The CCIS Intellectual Property Bootcamp on September 21, 2026, at the 3rd Floor of the Business Development Center (BDC), NwSSU Main Campus.

The first day featured lectures and discussions led by Dr. Ervin L. Rodriguez, covering key topics such as IP Foundation Overview, FTO Training Program, Patent Information, FTO in IP Management, and Intellectual Property keywords and jargon. An open forum and Q&A session also allowed participants to raise questions and deepen their understanding of intellectual property.

The two-day bootcamp brings together fourth-year BSIT, BSIS, and BSEMC students enrolled in Capstone Project 2, focusing on the importance of protecting digital innovations, software rights, and creative works developed through their capstone projects.

The Allied Students of Information Technology (ASIT) proudly extends its warmest congratulations to the selected BSIT and BSIS students of the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS), Northwest Samar State University behind LIGTAS Calbayog for securing a Top 10 spot in the LIKHALAB 2026 Creative Enterprise Incubation Challenge.

Composed of Roberto R. Sintos, Jr., Kian L. Noroña, Estrella A. Basnig, Vangeline T. Velasco, and Xyrene Grace C. Lavendia, under the guidance of their capstone adviser, Ms. Arnelyn F. Heleran, the team has demonstrated remarkable creativity, dedication, and technical excellence in bringing their innovative project to greater heights.

The Allied Students of Information Technology (ASIT) successfully conducted its General Assembly earlier, bringing together IT students to discuss the organization’s plans, upcoming activities, and other important matters for this academic year.

The assembly provided an opportunity for students and officers to stay informed, share ideas, and prepare for the activities and initiatives that ASIT has planned for the year.

We sincerely thank everyone who attended and shared their time and support. Let’s continue working together as we move forward this year!

The Allied Students of Information Technology (ASIT) successfully conducted the Java Tutorial, where our freshmen participants from BSIT 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, and 1E had the opportunity to learn the basics of Java, practice coding, and improve their programming skills.

We would like to thank all first-year students who participated and took part in this learning experience. Your active participation and willingness to learn made the tutorial a meaningful and successful one! 💙
